1. Factory-built housing-wise, what would you like to see happen in 2010?
Obviously, we all would like to see the market recover. Also, the "Modular Home" industry in general needs a face lift and a campaign needs to be implemented to change the mind set of what the term "Modular Home" means to people.
2. What are the challenges and the paths needed to move forward?
Other than the above, Architects and contractors alike need to rethink their traditional ways of working and embrace new sustainable methods of building.
3. Many in our industry have talked for years about doing a national image building campaign, similar to the successful one the RV industry did with their "GO-RVing!" multi-media effort. If our industry can't get together on that 'Go-RVing' style image campaign, would you favor state or regional level image and marketing campaigns as an alternative? Do you think that such an effort could in some ways be more effective than a national campaign? If so, why?
Any avenues that we as an industry can work together on will amount in a better understanding for the consumer and inevitably the return will make it to all of our bottom lines.
4. Does this industry need natural disasters (i.e. hurricanes) to survive or thrive? Explain your position on this point.
This question should go unsaid as it should not be used as a barometer for any industry. We are offering our technology globally for any disasters (NON JUST PROFIT)
5. What can consumers expect from your sector of the industry in 2010? Explain.
They should and can expect a fully sustainable, movable, earthquake resistant, rated up to 170mph winds, structure that takes 1/3 the time to set up with no land fill waste and that lasts 5 times as long as a typical build.
6. What can your sector of the industry do better? How can that be achieved?
We can build more efficiently with local materials / labor and by doing so it supports our local economy and speeds up the nation's recovery.
7. Any other thoughts or encouragement you'd like to share with our Industry Readers?
We can develop sustainable modular and prefabricated safe housing for export for assembly to other countries and solve the housing dilemma in the world. Creating more green jobs for American and manufacturing the products: (MADE IN AMERICA).
