MMHA Board of Directors Meeting

The MMHA Directors will meet on Thursday, December 2nd at Oakhill MHP, 1 Beech Street, Taunton. The meeting runs from 10am until noon. Senator Marc Pacheco will attend to discuss legislative issues for the coming year. We need to file our bills for the next legislative session in mid-Jan. and will look for support, guidance and suggestions. It makes a difference! MMHA Director Nancy Fallon, Leisurewoods-Taunton is a Commissioner and we are hoping to fill one vacant slot for MH soon.

Chapter 291 of the Acts of 2006.captioned,"AN ACT FURTHER REGULATING SENIOR HOUSING,"amended Massachusetts General Laws chapter 151B sections (4) (6) and (4)(7) to require 55+ and 62+ age-restricted communities to register biennially with the Department of Housing and Community Development to maintain their exemption  from age discrimination under the Massachusetts discrimination statute. Please note that the registration requirement" shall apply only to dwelling units constructed after January 1,2007."
