mhlivingnews-header

MHLivingNews.com is focused on the manufactured home owner. As the name suggests, MHLivingNews.com will have articles and news that highlight the benefits of manufactured home living.

A proven way to grow business is customer referrals. Some manufactured home retailers and communities state that the most common denominator for new manufactured home sales are the buyer knowing someone who lives in one and likes it.

There are many reason for MH owners to be happy about their housing choice. MHLivingNews.com will remind home owners and residents and reinforce those reasons.

MHLivingNews.com will also offer alerts on issues that manufactured home owners and businesses should be aligned on, such as legislative or regulatory issues.

Business professionals will find this site as a useful tool for their customers, prospects and home owners.

This is a business to consumer (B2C) effort, so your hotlink to MHLivingNews.com from your website is appreciated.

Invite your homeowners and residents to follow MHLivingNews.com. Communities should make this a resource in every resident newsletter.

The more manufactured home owners and the public reads MHLivingNews.com, the more we can improve the image, respect and business climate for manufactured home sales. With 19-20 million people living in mobile and manufactured homes, this is an audience MH Professionals need to mobilize for the factory built housing industry's long term success.##

ROC USA® shines in mass media spotlight

Social venture featured in NPR broadcast

May 3, 2012

Concord, NH – ROC USA, LLC was profiled during the “All Things Considered” segment of NPR’s broadcast Wednesday night.

ROC USA Founding President Paul Bradley said that with an audience of more than 12 million, the piece goes a long way toward raising awareness of the Concord, N.H.-based social venture.

“We’re already seeing a boost from the broadcast,” Bradley said Thursday. “Four community owners, three investors, one reporter, one academic and dozens of friends heard the story and have been in touch this morning.”

The segment, reported by New Hampshire Public Radio’s Dan Gorenstein, features all aspects of the industry and tells a compelling story through the eyes of two owners of manufactured homes – one in an established resident-owned community in New Hampshire and another in a cooperative in the process of converting to resident ownership in Massachusetts.

“We can talk and talk about the real benefits of resident ownership, but it’s the stories from homeowners like Judy Stoddard and Gary Thulin that really bring it home for folks,” Bradley said. “The opportunity to effect such tremendous, empowering change in people’s lives though social investment is one that capital providers are now realizing on a larger scale.”

ROC USA is a social venture with a mission to make resident ownership of “mobile home parks” viable nationwide. In operation since 2008, ROC USA has helped 35 resident corporations – co- ops in most states – purchase their communities. In the process, these resident groups have preserved nearly 2,200 affordable homes in 12 states.

(San Antonio, TX) – CU Factory Built Lending (CUFBL) received the 2012 MHI Regional Lender of the Year Award at the 2012 National Congress & Expo for Manufactured and Modular Housing in Las Vegas, Nevada. CUFBL specializes in financing manufactured homes in more than 40 states.

Bill Strunk, Regional Manager of the West Region, and Jeff Mouat, Sales and Marketing Manager, accepted the award on behalf of CUFBL. The company received this honor because of their outstanding performance as the regional lender that best contributes to product innovation, provides the best response to meet customer needs, contributes to the well-being of the manufactured housing lending industry and demonstrates ethical and prudent lending practices.

One innovation that CUFBL provides is the One Step Program which offers extremely low interest rates for the first five years and a very competitive fixed rate for the remainder of the loan term that is locked in at closing. The program allows customers to build equity more quickly because of the reduced interest costs of the loan. The company is also an active participant in state manufactured housing associations through sponsorships and board memberships.

“We are honored to be recognized by our peers for our efforts in serving this industry. At CUFBL, we are a team that thrives in serving others in a family culture, with honesty and integrity, demonstrating loyalty to employees, members, and clients, and responsibility to our community,” Strunk said.

Since 2003, CUFBL has helped meet the growing demand for financing in the manufactured housing market, with regional offices in Greensboro, NC; San Antonio, TX; Seattle, WA; and Fairfax, VT; serving current and prospective manufactured home owners across the United States.

CUFBL is a division of SACU a $2.9 billion credit union, serving more than 250,000 members with 17 locations in San Antonio, one location in Houston and in communities across the country through CUFBL, its manufactured housing division. CLF-logo-for-VerticalRespon-2  ROC-NH-Logo-RGB-wTag-200px-3

Dear Tony,

We’ve reached 100. That is, 100 resident-owned manufactured-housing communities in little New Hampshire.

Will you help us spread the good news?

The 54 homeowners at Big W Mobile Home Park in Derry last week became the 100th resident-owned community in NH.  This is a historic milestone for the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund and our ROC-NH™ team. It’s also evidence of the growing interest in and enthusiasm for resident ownership, and of the strength of this affordable housing sector.

NHCLF-043-L-First-100-Campaign-Logo-CP8The Derry homeowners join more than 5,600 others in NH, and another nearly 1,500 homeowners in 22 communities in the ROC USA®network, who enjoy the security, stability and affordability that cooperative resident ownership provides.

Perhaps the most remarkable element of our First 100 story is that in the 27 years since our first conversion, through boom and bust economic and real estate cycles, not one park has failed!

That statement speaks not only to the resourcefulness and resilience of the co-ops, it tells us that ROC-NH’s strategy of training and working closely with community leaders, and supplying intensive assistance when needed, works.

Resident-ownership also means that the NH homeowners have access to the Community Loan Fund’s NEXT Award-winning Cooperative Home Loans. The only program of its kind in the US, Cooperative Home Loans have provided fair, fixed-rate mortgage and home-equity loans to more than 500 homeowners and homebuyers in manufactured-housing cooperatives.

For 27 years, we’ve turned investments into loans and education to create opportunity and transform lives across NH. We invite the many individuals and institutions that donate to, invest in, or partner with the Community Loan Fund in any way to celebrate our First 100 with us.

We hope you’ll help us spread the news of our achievement to your audiences through your newsletters, social media and other communication channels.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , our communications director, will be happy to supply any material you need.

Thank you.

Tulsa (October 18, 2011) – In a move that will provide increased value to exhibitors as well as show-goers, the Manufactured Housing Association of Oklahoma (MHAO) Board of Directors announced that the new show dates for the 2012 Great Southwest Home Show will open for Trade Days, Thursday, March 1 at 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and run through Friday, March 2, and will be open to the General Public beginning Saturday morning, March 3 through Sunday, March 4.  The MHAO approved this time change in response to ever-intensifying requests from multiple Show stakeholders.  Additionally, being mindful of minimizing incremental costs to exhibitors, the Board approved a discount to manufacturers wishing to showcase more than four homes.

“This new show time will allow exhibitors to schedule ample time for appointments with key retailer partners in a more relaxed and unhurried atmosphere”, said Doug Gorman, GSHS chairman.  “It will offer all buyer attendees additional time to seek out new supplier partners while also giving time for meetings with current suppliers”.

The Great Southwest Home Show showcases factory built homes from around the country.  The QuikTrip Center at Expo Square in Tulsa, Oklahoma is located in the center of the heartland with easy accessibility to the Expo.  The QuikTrip Center is the largest indoor open-space facility in the country and can hold up to 100 homes and hundreds of booth exhibitors in an environmental friendly atmosphere.   The Great Southwest Home Show will be showcasing eye-popping, energy-efficient designs and fine craftsmanship that can make factory built homes one of the fast-growing segments of the home market.

“Show-goers can conveniently meet face to face with the industry experts and compare home and framing styles and familiarize themselves with many companies and hundreds of floor plans under one roof, instead of having to travel around the country to see them.” –Deanna Fields, Executive Director

The Great Southwest Home Show will feature homes from around the Midwest, South and Southwest region!

The Great Southwest Home Show will once again offer educational seminars during the lunch hour  on Thursday and Friday that is pertinent to retailers and community owner in the industry and an ALL-INDUSTRY NIGHT RECEPTION on Thursday evening on the show floor, allowing ample time for networking and closing those sweet deals that can only be had by attending an Industry Sponsored Show.

The Hard Rock Tulsa Hotel and Casino located minutes from the QuikTrip Center at Expo Square, is once again selected as the Host hotel offering rock bottom show rates to our attendees.

Quotes from service/suppliers exhibitors, manufacturers and retailers on last years show!

No weather to disrupt operations; facilities are close; open concessions; controlled temperature; booths among the homes (see it all) and the comfort of walking a floor not a parking lot. Lake Forest, Illinois, September 8, 2011 – Green Courte Partners, LLC ("Green Courte") announced today the acquisition of the Parkside Village manufactured housing community, located in the Buffalo, New York suburb of Cheektowaga.
