Dozens of FEMA manufactured homes have already been approved for victims of the recent flooding in Louisiana. Hundreds more are in the pipeline.
Initial approvals are going to those who already have a home site, which in practice means the recipient of the FEMA home will be placed on the same lot where their flood damaged house is.
The plan is pending for those who don’t have a site, which may include leasing a site, possible in manufactured home communities.
The homes are 14×60 or 14×70 designs, with one to three bedrooms and may include handicap accessible options.
