From Salina, Kansas and KSAL News Radio, MHProNews.com learns that Universal Forest Products will lease 15,000 square feet of a 30,000 square feet facility in the Salina Airport Industrial Area. The Grand Rapids, Michigan company manufactures and markets wood and wood alternative products for the manufactured housing industry as well as retail home centers and forming products for concrete construction. Accoding to the report the Kansas facility will assemble industrial packaging crates and pallets in support of industries in the area that ship large items, or large quantities of items. Universal Forest Products plans to hire five to eighteen people in the first twelve to eighteen months of operations.
