U.S. Stocks Close Little Changed – NYSE, Nasdaq To Be Open Tuesday

jan-26-2015-stock-reportMHCV stocks went up 3.48% today. Leaders in the stocks we track are: SKY 22.83%, CVCO 3.48%, LPX 3.16%, UFPI 3.07%, and SUI 2.63%.

Although a state of emergency has been declared for New York City and New Jersey due to the expected record-settling blizzard, officials say that NYSE and Nasdaq will be open tomorrow.

Marketwatch tells MHProNews that U.S. stocks ended Monday’s choppy trading session with small gains, as investors mostly shrugged off the Greek election results which brought the leftist Syriza party to power. The relative calm in global equity markets was attributed largely to lingering effects of the quantitative easing program announced by the European Central Bank last week, which overshadowed election results in Greece.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Ocwen Financial Corp., the embattled mortgage-servicing company, on Monday rejected efforts by a group of large investors to remove the firm as servicer of billions of dollars of residential mortgage-backed securities. In a letter, an Ocwen lawyer said the investors had made “baseless allegations,” and that their letter late last week had “an inflammatory tone, with misleading content.”

CNN Money tells MHProNews that although the weather in much of the Northeast may be frightful, the stock performance of several companies could benefit from The Blizzard of 2015.  Shares of Generac (GNRC), a company that sells generators are up 5% Monday afternoon.
