Town Council may Vote to Close MHC Immediately

mhc lynn armitage cpexecutive creditThe 32 residents of M & W Mobile Home Park in Alta Vista, West Virginia may have to vacate the community if the town council upholds its ruling to deny renewal of the permit to operate. Neither the community owner nor the residents were aware the council was holding a meeting concerning the future of M & W. The Preston County Health Department renewed the yearly permit for the community in July after violations for solid waste, grass and trash were addressed by the owner, according to times-news.com. However, the town has a blight ordinance distinct from the county health department, and Mayor Teresa Dixon says there have been issues off and on since 2006 with the community,
and without being specific, intimated the problem is with several of the homes, MHProNews has learned. Residents have staged protests at the town hall, and have gathered 300 signatures on a petition to keep the community open. A decision is expected soon. ##
