Dutch_modular__curbed_slash_finch_buildingsDutch architect Jurrian Knijtijzer has developed a stackable and addable, modular building system for homes, offices, clinics or schools that is also 95 percent recyclable. Made of sustainable lumber from a tree farm—his company, Finch Buildings, plants a tree for every one they cut down–builds the 13 ft. X 33 ft. modules that can be attached Dutch_modulars__finch_buildings__curbed_the_publicationvertically or horizontally, up to a seven-story building.

Each module can be further sub-divided utilizing walls or screens, or outfitted with a modular kitchen or bath, as curbed tells MHProNews.

Knijtijzer envisions his module as a basic eco-friendly building block with multiple applications, stating, “I like to say we are the Tesla of housing,” in an interview with Mark Magazine.

Finch is currently involved in two large scale projects in Amsterdam—one is offices, the other is housing. ##
