The Dirks Tripled the Size of their Manufactured Home Community

Iowa_toledo__new_mfg_ho__arowhead_mhp__Dirks_father_and_sonThirty-three years before Harlan Dirks and his son, Dave, bought the Arrowhead Mobile Home Park in 1992 in Toledo, a town of nearly 2,300 pop. in central Iowa, Harlan opened the Dirks Real Estate office in town.

Fifty-seven years later, the Dirks Real Estate banner still flies, representing residential, business, commercial and farm properties, as tamatoledonews tells MHProNews.. Since buying Arrowhead, the Dirks have grown the community from 32 manufactured homes to 95. Originally opened in 1969, 400 people now call the community home.

Renters are offered a rent-to-own program which Harlan says has worked out well. In addition to adding seven new manufactured homes in the past year and-a-half, the father-and-son team have installed 49 mini storage units as well. ##
