The Blind Leading vs. Truth Telling, Life of Jesus Video

When a blind person leads another blind person, both can trip and fall.

Millions have watched the various versions of this life of Jesus based upon the Gospel of Luke. It is a series of vignettes.  Among them is the possessed man who has the demons driven out of him, and they immediately go into nearby swine. For the ancient Jews – as well as strictly observant ones today – those swine were unclean, and thus an apt and living metaphor.

A variety of the parables and events in the life of Jesus of Nazareth are depicted in this video, and gives a visual context to words on paper.

Our industry and nation are roiled with controversies, divisions, and challenges of all kinds. Some capitalize on those splits.  Some spin fables or outright lies.  Others seek to combat those deceptions by telling the truth.

Repetitions of half-truths, deceptions or lies makes it more common, not more true. Intellectual curiosity, combined with a willingness to question the often clearly failed ‘leaders’ in our industry or land are among the reasons that truth of the underlying causes and thus cures ought to be more anxiously sought than ever before.

Almost since the dawn of human history, the battle of truth vs deception has been part of the challenge that people of every era have faced. The founders of America believed that laws alone would never be enough.  The founder of the U.S.A. – intelligent people that were well versed in history – believed that the inspiration of faith had to be an essential part of the equation for making a better country.

Note that none of the founders, or any leader since, were perfect people. That doesn’t mean that they didn’t achieve remarkable things. We ought to take the wheat and toss aside the chaff.

All knowledge, all truth, is learned and accepted in stages. Affordable housing is necessary, which means our industry is much needed too. Yet, when one looks at the headlines, or the industry’s performance in recent years, one must admit that manufactured housing is far from living up to its potential.  That means, revised approaches are needed.
