VP Mike Pence, “We’ll Hold House,” Make History “When We Elect John James” Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity Rally With POTUS Trump Monday Evening

November 5th, 2018 Comments off

Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity will join President Donald J. Trump at a rally Monday, November 05, 2018 at 09:00 pm (CST) on the eve of this week’s midterm elections, the Trump campaign announced Sunday.

The Hill reports, “The two conservative media personalities will join Trump for a rally Monday night in Cape Girardeau, Mo.”

The campaign said in a statement that Hannity and Limbaugh are “longtime friends” of Trump and “strong advocates for the President’s America First agenda.”

We’re glad to welcome Cape Girardeau native Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity as special guests to this final stop on the tour where President Trump will make his case to the American people to support GOP candidates on Election Day in order to continue our great American comeback under his leadership,” said Michael Glassner, Chief Operating Officer of the Trump Campaign in a statement.

Meanwhile, in Michigan and elsewhere that Vice President Mike Pence is stumping for Republican candidates, the VP has said that they will “make history,” and “hold the House.”

VP Pence also predicted that John James will unseat Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow in Michigan.

Conventional wisdom and most of the last 100 years of history for both major parties suggests differently.  For example, starting with the first midterm, President Barack Hussein Obama began bleeding Democratic seats.  Over the next 6 years, Democrats lost over 1,000 local, state, and national seats during the Obama Administration era.

But conventional wisdom and the polls were defied before. In 2016, MHProNews projected the path to victory for President Donald J. Trump, against the long odds of most analysts.

The analysis by the Daily Business News on MHProNews believes that Republicans can pick up as many as 10 (+/-) seats in the U.S. Senate.  That’s based upon the most recent data on early voting, and closely analyzing other polling data that some others don’t consider.

For example, President Trump’s approval with minorities has soared in the wake of all-time low unemployment numbers.

That said, with so many retirements in the U.S. House by Republicans, it is the harder fight.  So, as with any electoral contest, the outcomes is based not upon polls, but actual turnout and votes.

The progressive publication The Nation put it bluntly this weekend.  In a release to MHProNews, they said “Ignore the polls.” It is all about actual votes.

Fisher and Stifel investment firms have both said that the significant market turmoil in the October run-up to the midterms was due in part to uncertainty of the GOP holding the House.  If the GOP wins both the House and the Senate, and defies history again in 2018, then there are reasons to expect a strong continuation of the Trump economic reforms and more business and job growth.

The immigration issue, strong business confidence, wage growth, economic numbers measured by the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and other data favors the #45th president and his party.   Recent word that one of now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s accusers admitted that she was lying could add one more bit of incentive to those who are tired of dirty politics.

The bottom line is simple.

President Donald J. Trump Visit to Manufactured Home Community, Video, Hurricane Florence Update

September 20th, 2018 Comments off

It’s been a year since Hurricane Irma, and the headlines now are focused upon other matters, including the still-developing post-storm conditions in the Carolinas, which President Donald J. Trump visited yesterday.

We’ll get to the news from the White House, as well as other sources about the visit to the Carolinas, and how it all relates to manufactured housing further below. But we’ll start with a flashback to Hurricane Irma.

Because it reflects a story that received surprisingly little attention in manufactured home circles before now. It was President Donald J. Trump’s visit to a manufactured home land lease community that was hit by Hurricane Irma.

There are times that frankly MHProNews and/or MHLivingNews wants to be ‘first’ with a story, or to be the first to do a fact-check or spotlight of a mainstream media report.

But there are other times that it can be more revealing when our publisher decides, “Let’s wait. Let’s see what others in the industry do with this story before we weigh in.”

Why didn’t the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), or others make a big splash out of the following?

CBS News saw fit to cover the visit of the president to a land-lease community in the Naples, FL area.

In Fort Myers, President Trump praised Florida Gov. Rick Scott for the response to Hurricane Irma. Aboard Marine One, the president and first lady got an aerial view of the destruction in Naples. They also visited a mobile home park that was badly damaged. Carter Evans reports.”  CBS did more than verbally report the tour, they included video clips of President Trump in that manufactured home community. See that, in the video that follows.

Was this a good vote?” President Trump asks a man in the video posted above. The gentleman and president were spotlighted talking in that manufactured home community.  After the man replied in the affirmative about his vote, saying it was – “The best,” POTUS Trump repeated and emphasized the resident’s comment: “The best vote of his life.”

Perhaps the 45th president knew that he did well with millions of manufactured home residents, per extrapolation of surveys like those conducted by the New York Times and MHProNews?

Contrast and Compare…

Where was President Barack Obama in those damage tours in the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy? There is no evidence we can find with Google searches that former President Obama ever visited a manufactured home community. Why not?  After all, Warren Buffett, the Clintons, and Kevin Clayton all had their respective ties to the 44th president.  A recent report related to those ties is found below, and can be read later.

“Toxic Trailers” – Clayton Homes, Warren Buffett, Kevin Clayton, Clintons – Exposé Videos

But isn’t it likewise an embarrassment that the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), the industry’s self-proclaimed post-production association, failed to promote the visit by President Trump a year ago?  How could MHI fail to promote the event where President Trump, Vice-President Mike Pence, and Governor Rick Scott went to that MH community, to meet with residents, and hand out food and drink? Isn’t part of the value of a ‘photo op’ all about those people, places, promotions, and products that are in the background or foreground of the story?

Presidents Nixon, Ford, and Carter are among those that made a direct connection to the pre-HUD Code mobile home business, and/or the post-code manufactured housing industry. We see that President Trump made a personal visit to a community.  His HUD Secretary, Ben Carson, promised greater cooperation with the manufactured home industry.

“A New Era of Cooperation and Coordination,” is Promised by HUD Secretary Carson, Saying “I Hear You”

Now, compare that to former Presidents Carter or Obama.

President Jimmy Carter Blasts Trump Administration on Affordable Housing, Carter’s Manufactured Home Ties

Is it any wonder that manufactured housing is struggling to get back to 100,000 annual shipments, when by comparison, the RV industry is selling about 5 times as many of their units compared to manufactured homes?

You must meet people where they are. Terminology must be taught and caught. Make a habit of using the correct terminology.

There will be more in the near future on the visit by President Trump to that manufactured home community, planned for MHLivingNews and MHProNews too.

Let’s pivot to events from Hurricane Florence.

What follows is an extended quote from a White House statement to the Daily Business News

Hurricane Florence

To all of our first responders: ‘Thank you!’

As President Donald J. Trump visits the Carolinas today, nearly 20,000 Federal employees have been mobilized to help restore power, rescue stranded victims, and assist in all aspects of the recovery following Hurricane Florence.

The numbers behind the Federal response:

  • More than 2,000 rescues and nearly 15,000 individuals sheltered by FEMA
  • Some 6,000 active-duty personnel and 7,000 National Guardsmen on scene
  • At least 400 lives—and 200 pets—saved by the U.S. Coast Guard
  • More than 100 priority sites beginning to be assessed by the EPA
  • 40,000 individuals working with the Department of Energy to restore power
  • 535 rescue-and-evacuation missions and counting performed or supported by the National Guard in North Carolina

The President delivered a, clear message during his visit to affected communities today: “The Federal Government is behind you.” He thanked state leaders, first responders, and local officials for working around the clock to help all victims get the assistance they need. “Whatever we need from Washington, we are there.”

The widespread devastation of this storm demands a Government-wide response, and that is what the Trump Administration has worked to deliver. The Department of Veterans Affairs is moving to open facilities that were closed by the storm, and the Small Business Administration has announced assistance for homeowners, renters, and businesses of all sizes in addition to opening a business recovery center.

AFP had this video from a manufactured home community in the storm’s path.  There are reports of flooded manufactured home industry locations and homes in the Carolinas.

There is a process that must be navigated for FEMA assistance.  Flooding must subside, and related issues on identifying locations for placing FEMA MHU temporary homes are among the issues that lie ahead.  For more on that, see related reports, linked further below.

Manufactured Home Industry Takeaways?

During the Obama Administration –

  • Dodd-Frank,
  • Pam Danner at HUD,
  • no help from FHFA and the Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs),
  • and more were all part of the manufactured home industry’s reality.

Keep in mind that:

  • Combined with what Warren Buffett’s Berkshire brands reportedly did – along with the Clinton/Clayton report (see above), is it any surprise that HUD Code manufactured housing slipped to their lowest level ever during the Obama years?

By contrast, President Donald Trump has kept his promises to create more jobs, and lower regulatory barriers and taxes that harmed businesses of all sizes.

Affordable housing and manufactured homes ought to be non-partisan or bi-partisan issues.  Regrettably, that’s not always the case, as the above linked bullets and reports reflect.

An industry producer told MHProNews that during the Obama era, a federal official told him and his colleagues to their faces that, “You’re nothing but a bunch of Republicans!” As if that was a crime or sin?

The New York Times reported that Washington in the prior election voted for Barack Obama won District of Columbia in 2012 by 83.6 percentage points.” CityLab said in 2016 that Secretary Hillary Clinton won 68.2 percent of the vote in the metro that included Washington, D.C.

3 Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD-WV 68.2%

Manufactured housing professionals should be under no illusions about the difference between how the most recent Democratic administration – former President Obama – treated manufactured housing, vs. how President Trump’s administration has behaved towards our home owners and the industry.

Washington, D.C. is a highly partisan town, tilting strongly Democratic. That fact will matter in reports that are yet to come. Stay tuned.

Manufactured Housing Supporting VP Mike Pence in Elkhart, Indiana – Highlights

May 11th, 2018 Comments off

Former Indiana Governor Mike Pence knows manufactured housing, sources in the Hoosier state tell MHProNews.

Vice President Pence also knows and uses the correct terminology, and supports the industry, those same sources tell the Daily Business News.

The 58 year old vice president is mentioned by some as a potential successor for President Donald J. Trump.  He spoke Thursday in Elkhart Indiana, as the ‘opening act’ for the 45th president.

Elkhart is a hub for RVs, manufactured housing and several supporting producer businesses tied to the two industries. Elkhart is also where the RV MH Hall of Fame and museum is located.

The theme of Vice President Mike Pence was “Promises Made, Promises Kept.”

He ticked off a list of accomplishments, but among those of interest to manufactured housing industry professionals:

  • 3.1 million new jobs since the election,
  • 33,000 new jobs in Indiana.
  • 315,000 new manufacturing jobs.
  • 8,000 good paying manufacturing jobs” in Elkhart, IN alone.
  • Unemployment “not this low since 2000.”
  • Elkhart County has 5th lowest unemployment rate in America.

Consider the video a preview of the themes for the 2018 midterms.  Some one liners from the video, shown.

Jobs are coming back.”

Confidence is back.”

Under President Trump, America is back, and we are just getting started.”

We will make America prosperous again.”

The vice president focused fire on vulnerable Senator Joe Donnelley (D-IN)

“Time after time, when the president asked” Senator Donnelley to “support the policies Hoosiers need, Joe voted no.

Senator Donnelly is one of 10 Democrats in states that President Trump carried in 2016 that are up for reelection in 2018.

While much of the mainstream media has been saying for months that there is a blue wave coming in November, if the president’s polling is any indicator, that claim is doubtful if the elections were held today.

But the elections are about 6 months out. Much can occur between now and then.  The president’s and vice president’s message to their base? It could be summed up as stay engaged, vote, and keep the economic momentum going. ## (News, analysis, and commentary.)

“Winning!” The Power of Pushback, Lessons for the MH Industry

October 11th, 2017 Comments off

What is taking place in Washington D.C. and the nation are all parts of a puzzle. To get the complete picture, one must look at every aspect of the puzzle, or there will a lack of clarity as to why tax reform, health care, regulatory reform, or others issues that impact Manufactured Housing Industry, current and potential home owners are stuck in the D.C. swamp.

Jennifer Harper’s thoughtful column “This Is What Pushing Back Looks Likein the Washington Times brought this recent Rush Limbaugh quote below to the attention of the Daily Business News.

Limbaugh’s site reflected the transcript of what Harper referenced in his recent radio show.

The talk-radio celebrity spoke about Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen’s widely reported walk-out after several players ‘took a knee’ during the Pledge of Allegiance at the Colts-49 Sunday game – as follows.

First the Scenario and Example, Then the MH Industry Takeaway

“…This is what the left not getting away with setting the narrative and determining who can and who can’t say anything… This is what it looks like. This is what it looks like when you push back against it. You may find it uncomfortable. You people think… You may buy into this notion, “Gee, I wish the vice president hadn’t gone in there and hijacked the Peyton Manning statue unveiling.”

The So-Called ‘Culture War’ is Something More…

In “Never Let a Serious Crisis Go To Waste,” MHProNews outlined some of the ways that Saul Alinsky’s modern disciples think and behave.  That report quotes Alinsky and his modern followers, including Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Secretary Hillary Clinton and 44th President Barack Obama.

That Alinsky “playbook” has been fairly effectively used by progressives for decades. Those who seek to limit government’s intrusions and overreaches thus need to learn that playbook, and how to pushback against it.

Notice. One can agree with 21st Mortgage President, CEO and prior MHI Chairman Tim Williams’ presentation – from which the slide above was taken with permission – while still questioning how it came to be that Williams was being intellectually at odds with Berkshire Hathaway Chairman, Warren Buffett. To see all of William’s informative slides, click the graphic above.

But with President Trump, and VP Mike Pence, they are taking their oppositions’ narratives head-on.

That push back, has some pundits saying that the president is winning” on this issue.  That in turn could energize his base, and help move his agenda forward against “the swamp” of Washington, D.C.

Well, Pence and Trump are not taking it anymore, and this is what it looks like. For decades now, we have become conditioned to just accept any and all anti-American displays. We’re supposed to be tolerant,” Limbaugh said.

Harper observed that, “Some of the media, however, have suggested that Mr. Trump is emerging as the victor. Donald Trump is now winning the national anthem debate without question, according to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith,” writes Ford Springer, who covers entertainment for the Daily Caller and tracked the analyst’s comments.”

The Drudge Report has been reporting for weeks that NFL popularity is dropping.

Millions of people pledge their allegiance to the Constitution and the flag, which represents that allegiance. That allegiance supersedes allegiance to any NFL team or to any cause,” said Limbaugh. “There’s a strong and binding culture that exists among people who don’t live in elitists bubbles. Donald Trump sides with the people because he thinks they’re right. There isn’t any hidden agenda here. There are no double standards.”

It’s just simply about right and wrong,” Limbaugh stated, “It’s the practical exception of patriotism, and it’s being assaulted.”

Who hijacked what? Why is the MH Industry’s agenda in Washington, D.C. stuck? Whichever side someone happens to be on regarding the NFL controversy, the principle that MH Advocate, Rev Donald Tye Jr makes is this. Division is a tool for “the powers that be,” to “divide and rule” Americans. The controversy could be about almost anything. The Vice President had the same rights as those players who took that knee. “This is what push-back looks like.”

The MH Industry Takeaway?

For years, publisher L. A. ‘Tony’ Kovach has promoted the notion that the industry must push-back against false or misleading media, governmental, or other third-party narratives.

Frank Rolfe has made similar statements in the last year too.

FrankRolfeMHFundRVHorizonsMobileHomeUniversityDailyBusinessNewsManufacturedHomeIndustryResearchReportsDataAnalysisMHProNews595Bob Crawford, president of historic Dick Moore Housing has said that the Manufactured Housing Institute is at best “a 5 out of 10” at representing independents in the industry.

At the recent Deadwood conference, Kovach energized the industry attendees by saying that the industry and its consumers deserved a robust public defense, comparing what the consultant and his clients do to a modern civil rights issue for the industry, its professionals and consumers.

Manufactured housing advocate, the Rev. Donald Tye, Jr. has taken strong stands with media who have slandered manufactured housing.

Tye explained that public housing – an entitlement – often yields addiction. Ownership vs. renting or living in “projects” leads to integrity, a view he likens to those of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) has routinely joined in when asked by MHProNews to comment about some media incident or inaccurate study.

MHARR has for years ‘pushed back’ against the forces arrayed against their regulatory reform agenda in D.C., as this new linked item reflects.

Several industry pros joined MHProNews in pushing back against the ‘fake news’ found in the report linked above; collage credit by

Numerous industry professionals have done similarly on various occasions, when asked by MHProNews or MHLivingNews to comment on hot topics of the day

Some of those published rebuttal comments are the only serious pushback the industry has given to harmful and inaccurate reporting by perhaps well meaning, but nevertheless errant, reporting.  The PBS, NPR, News & Observer graphic is but one of dozens of examples of how that’s been done.

The president and vice president push back.

The NAACP or ADL pushed back for decades, until they got the respect in the public square their respective groups deserved.

Slide from Kovach’s Deadwood presentation to manufactured home professionals.

The time for more in manufactured housing to push-back is now, argues consultant, trade publisher and speaker Kovach.

And the award-winning industry veteran says that pushback has to be at the local level

Not top down, but bottom up.

Kovach agrees with the state association leader who advised not to defend alleged bad actors who draw negative media.

But when the benefit of the doubt or facts support

  • manufactured homes,
  • a professional, and/or
  • the industry’s home owners,

pushing back is also how winning will be achieved and accomplished, he says.

The reason we have the largest professional audience in the industry’s history is because we strive to fight for what’s right, and won’t lay down for what we believe is wrong,” Kovach asserts.

And in Washington or locally, just as the president, vice-president, Steve Bannon, Larry Kudlow, Sebastian Gorka, NFIB, MHARR, and a host of others are showing by example, the industry needs to stand up and fight for what’s right,” Kovach said.

Failure to stand up for what’s right, allows the opposition to win by default.

Pushback with the truth well told,” Kovach advocates. That’s what will lead to acceptance and winning for our industry, the public and home owners That’s what will lead to increases that will surpass the industry’s heyday.” ## (News, analysis, commentary.)
