Thursday marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day, a major turning point in World War II. It helped lead to the defeat of Nazi forces in Europe. More than 150,000 American, British and Canadian troops landed on the shores of northern France on June 6, 1944. About 2,500 of the 73,000 U.S. soldiers who fought in the battle died. As a 23-year-old army medic, Ray Lambert saved countless lives in Normandy, despite being wounded. Now 98, he recently co-wrote a book called “Every Man A Hero.” Jan Crawford reports,” said CBS News in an interview with the D-Day veteran.

The video mixes historic film footage with the interview, modern and period scenes.  It’s moving.

The correspondent couldn’t help but cry at one point, which happened on this end watching the veteran’s moving story.

Leaders from around the world are starting two days of observances to remember the 75th anniversary of D-Day. President Trump and Queen Elizabeth are part of this morning’s ceremony in Portsmouth, England, one of the main departure points for the WWII invasion of German-occupied France. German Chancellor Angela Merkel is also there, along with representatives from all 16 allied nations that took part in D-Day. Anthony Mason reports from Normandy,” said CBS News about the introduction to their video, below.

For the vast majority of us who have never experienced combat, it’s instructive to grasp how brave these men where.  No wonder they are known as “the greatest generation.”

Imagine, in 1940 or 1941, the Germans and the Japanese may have appeared almost unbeatable.

But by VE Day on Wednesday, May 8, 1945 the war in Europe was over.

Without the willingness to fight, the Nazis, Japanese, and Soviets may well have conquered much of the world.  The clarity of World War II was that there are some battles that simply can’t be avoided.

Other struggles are more obscure, but are just as real.  The greatest generation reminds us that the willingness to do what is right can make the difference.

Housing Policy, and Pragmatism – Bridging the Gap – Conservatives AND Liberals, or Conservatives VS. Liberals?

March 1st, 2019 Comments off
HousingPolicyPragmatismBridgingtheGapConservativesANDLiberalsORConservativesVSLiberalsDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

Still of “TR” from video, below. Truly inspirational, and insightful, on numerous levels.

MHLivingNews recently featured a report where Democrats and Republicans came together in a bipartisan way to support manufactured homes as an important part of the solution the affordable housing crisis in their state.  That report is linked here and below.

Those lawmakers looked at facts, figures, and the reality of manufactured homes – not party labels, or outdated notions.  That’s how they overcame their party differences.  They were pragmatic.

Democrats, Republicans Agree – “Manufactured Homes Can Play a Vital Role in Easing” the Affordable Housing Shortage

Stating the obvious can bring clarity to an issue. Words have meanings. What follows is a practical matter to affordable housing advocates in general, including manufactured home professionals, as the example just noted exemplifies.

Words and their meaning can either divide or unite. Finding not some nebulous ‘compromise,’ but rather the truth that can be acted upon is how understanding facts can span the gaps that need to be bridged.

Affordable housing is a problem.  Properly understood, manufactured homes are an important part of the solution.

Repetition vs. Reality and the Truth

Some things are believed simply because – right or wrong – they are often repeated.

Often repeating a falsehood or a half-truth is proven to be an effective tool for spreading propaganda.  That’s why critical thinking is necessary.

With respect to manufactured homes, the thought provoking factoids posted helps cut through noise that may cause some to say, ‘Eureka! I get it!’  The infographic below is from data collected in 2018.

Conservatives AND Liberals, Not Conservatives VS. Liberals

The word ‘conservative’ comes from the root word, ‘to conserve.’ That means, don’t waste, protect the environment, hold fast to good principles, etc.  Think about it. Aren’t those qualities that most could agree upon?

The meaning of ‘classical liberalism’ is a close cousin to conservative. The classical liberal wants maximum freedom. Conservatives want freedom too.  The video below explains classical liberalism. Most if asked after watching this video would likely say, that they are a classical liberal. Once someone understands what a conservative is, many more would say they are conservatives than now do.

ClassicalLiberalismVsModernLiberalismUncreativeJournalistDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

This is not from the video above, but provides a useful reference for journalists and thinkers.

Properly understood, the word ‘progress’ is not a dirty word either.

TeddyRoosveltTrustBusterCartoonVideoStillDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

Progress for workers and business – in much of the 1900s was seen by many as dependent on breaking up monopoly power. After about 3 decades of less antitrust action, there is a new interest among Democrats, by President Trump, and some in the GOP of this issue. Wheat and Chaff.

An early American progressive” was Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt. President Teddy Roosevelt (TR) changed over the years, but at a key point in his life, he fostered what became the national park system. TR was also a “trust buster,” who worked to break up monopolies – known in those days a ‘trusts’ – so that small businesses and workers alike would benefit.  Teddy would have been very comfortable with the Open Markets philosophy during that phase of his career.

POTUS TR used the phrase “Square Deal” to capture the notion that everyone should get an equal or fair opportunity. This first video from Free School, published on May 14, 2015.

The History of Theodore [Teddy] Roosevelt – A Short Story – video below.  Some similar points to the above, but also some unique points between the two.

Just as Republican Abraham Lincoln was the president who thankfully freed the slaves, it was more from the GOP than Democrats passed the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

InfographicVotingRightsAct1965DailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

History, once looked at closely with an open mind, can be full of surprises.  The above and below are here so that those who want to divide people based upon racial or other claimed issues are corrected, based upon the facts.

This is mentioned for several reasons. Each major party – and the minor parties – have people who wanted progress. Each has those who want to conserve. It is too much to say that the various views of parties agree on all things. That noted, there can be far more agreement if pragmatic approaches that look at facts, and don’t demonize the other, are used.

So, while it is true that some individuals who harbor ill intent must be ‘defeated’ – somewhat like a criminal must be arrested – the flaws of the few should not be imposed on the many who on the surface may appear to be from a seemingly similar group.

Simplified, facts and reality matter.  If more people stick with facts and strive to draw conclusions based upon facts and evidence, not only would our industry advance, but so too would our country.

There is no affordable housing solution more proven than manufactured homes.  The infographic below is from data collected in 2018.

Don’t Lump Everyone In, Allow for Areas of Agreement, Wheat and Chaff

There are those who question why we press upon certain issues, people, or groups.  First, let’s note that MHProNews has routinely made nuanced distinctions.  While we do question and hold to account – for example – the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) for years of apparent failure to perform in a measurable way.  But that doesn’t mean we are condemning all MHI staff or members. We never have, nor would we lump everyone into one bucket in that fashion.

We may disagree with a company’s business practices, but that doesn’t mean that we condemn those working for that firm.  Wheat and chaff, on all things.  Even a problematic company or person, may have some worthwhile quality or principle.

There are policy points that editorially we’ve disagreed with Democrats on, but the same is true for some GOP policy positions.  That’s why we are political independents.

Just as businesses must turn a profit and professionals in business must perform to reasonable standards in a hopefully honorable way, that same measuring gauge ought to be held up for politicians, associations and their staff.

Summary and Takeaways

There are some who are so in it only for themselves, or their masters, that they choose not to reason.  Those types may need to be ‘defeated’ in discussion or debate, so that their behavior is discredited.

But perhaps the majority of professionals – given the opportunity to work based upon facts, not opinions – can often find ways to work together in an effective way.  Employers don’t ask for a party membership card, or who the employee voted for in the last election.  People are expected to work together regardless of some protected class or belief they may hold.

MHProNews stresses facts, routinely cites sources, uses evidence, and common sense (i.e.: logic, reason).  Our once many times greater industry in scope ought to be soaring, not snoring. There are a variety of steps that ought to be considered to make the industry’s untapped potential to turn millions of renters into owners.  There are many ways that manufactured housing could be considered – based upon proven experience – as a viable option without resorting to the problematic and untested ‘new class of home’ scheme.

Russians Build Truly Mobile, “Mobile Home” – Lighter Side Videos Spark Serious Topics

February 8th, 2019 Comments off

RussiansBuildTrulyMobileMobileHomeLighterSideVidoesSparkSeriousTopics

In a matter of days, the first video below of a Russian designed and built “mobile home” cottage has widely surprised the total of all the views of all the videos that the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) produced and published in late 2017.

The videos are in Russian with an English voiceover.  As of the time the Daily Business News on MHProNews started this article on 2.8.2019, in just about a day, the “Bathhouse – First Drive” video published on 2.7.2019 had already had some 28,629 views.

Part one of this video “Building a mobile home on an UAZ platform – will it drive?” was published on published on Feb 4, 2019, and it already has 61,224 views.

Outside of the U.S. or Canada, there are many possible meanings to the term “mobile home.”  In Canada, they have Z240 standards for manufactured homes.  That’s their version of the U.S. HUD Code for manufactured housing code, which went into effect on June 15,1976.  Before that date, millions of mobile homes were built. Some of those pre-HUD Code mobile homes in the U.S. were built to ANSI, UL, or other inspections and standards – or were absent such standards – depending on the jurisdiction that they were crafted.

TerminologyMattersBecausetheTerminologyDescribestheConstructionStandardsHomeBuiltToSteveDukeLMHAaMHLivingNewsMHProNewsBiggerPocketsSunshineHomesRedBayAL

The terminology matters because
the terminology determines the
construction standards a home was
built to,” Steve Duke, LMHA.

The genius of the HUD Code – on paper – is that manufactured homes offers numerous consumer safeguards.  Those consumer protections are not found in far more costly conventional housing.  A sense of that reality is found by clicking on the text/image box and the report linked from it.

Exposé! Heartbroken Conventional Housing Buyers? Dare to Compare Site Built with Modern Manufactured Homes

HUD Code manufactured homes are built in a controlled environment.  So long as you can get to the factory or production center, weather has little impact on building.

Building materials don’t sit outside for days or weeks on end, getting rain, snow, wind, or other weather impacts.  Loss of materials to theft is dramatically reduced.  Waste in building is cut down to as little as a pair of 55-gallon drums, much ‘greener’ than conventional building.

You can find commentary like that pointed towards the trades from MH publishers and bloggers. Post that on Facebook, and dozens or hundreds of industry pros will ‘like’ it.

But where are such points found promoted by MHI are their own website? To the mainstream media?  Where are the viral videos about how manufactured homes are answer to the affordable housing crisis that promotes the good being done by the industry?

Instead, MHI spends thousands of dollars on hiring attorney(s) to rattle sabers against a pro-growth publisher. MHI surrogates ponder “boycotts” and plot ‘what can we do to stop them [MHProNews]?’

These low viewer level MHI videos – vs. what is occurring with these new Russian mobile home videos – are a stark reminder of the potential vs. the realities that exist in manufactured housing.

  • Tiny houses have a serious following.
  • Mobile home lovers do too.
  • RVs – there are clubs galore.

Where’s the love for manufactured homes?  What is the Omaha-Knoxville-Arlington axis and their allies doing to promote real solutions beyond the silo of the industry’s modest numbers of professionals?

Sears Prefab Home Initiative

December 25th, 2018 Comments off
SearsPrefabHomeInitiativeDailyBusinessNEwsMHproNews

Still from video posted below, logos and images are provided under fair use guidelines.

As 2018 draws towards a close, Sears is a company struggling to survive. Creditors, courts, and a hunt for more customers are past of the once great retailer’s grim future. Walmart, Amazon, and others have taken big bites out of Sear’s market share.

But a century ago, it wasn’t so. Sears arguably did its part to helped launch the prefab housing revolution in the early 1900s. What happened?

Sears is a timely reminder that time marches on. Change, be it slow or rapid, impacts businesses and industries or all sizes. For manufactured, modular, and prefab housing professionals, investors, and advocates changing market drivers and dominators are at stake in our industry too.

Because Sears catalogs, like a foreshadowing of pre-internet Amazon, was its own marketplace of almost everything in its heyday.

In this firsts video are some Sears homes that date back 90 years, with interviews comments from an architect and actual contemporary home owners woven into the narrative about Sears’ pre-cut “jigsaw puzzle” housing.  These curated videos are informative as well as entertaining.

From Sears and Roebuck catalogs, someone could order precut kit homes. Those homes were part of the insatiable demand for affordable housing in America and beyond. From the early 1900s to about 1940, Sears sold tens of thousands of homes in this fashion.

As part of our Christmas pause to reflect, it’s important to realize that some of those old Sears kit homes are still around. There are still numbers of other old prefabs, shell homes, kits housing, and modular homes too.

Some classic older trailer houses, about 2 million mobile homes, and roughly 6.6 million federally regulated HUD Code manufactured homes are all still serving their residents.

Walk Down Memory Lane: From Trailers and Mobile Homes to Early and Modern Manufactured Homes (Video)

Some 22 million in the U.S. will celebrate Christmas in one of those mobile or manufactured home dwellings. For those of us who helped serve some of those millions, we should think about those good souls celebrating their lives, as we return to our own festivities of this holiday. Merry Christmas to all. “We Provide, You Decide.” © ## (News , analysis, and commentary.)

December 24th, 2018 Comments off

BestPrefabModularHome2018VideosDailyBusinessNewsMHproNews

On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and December 26, talk radio shows often use “’best of’ repeats. At this time of year, the mainstream media traditionally includes ‘year in review’ news stories.

Here on the Daily Business News on MHProNews we’re doing something similar to the later, because we want fresh content daily for our readers, not just best of stories. So what follows is new and suited to the professionals engaged in our industry.

Everyone needs and benefits from third-party and objective perspectives.  Arguably one of the reason MHProNews dominates in this niche is because we provide news, commentary, and analysis that is relevant to our readers.  That’s why even during the holidays, you and thousands of others like your logon here.

We as publishers don’t have to agree or disagree with a topic in order to present it. That’s the case with these 3 curated videos. The first video has over 1.5 million views.

The above’s video views dwarfed in a day or so what all of MHI’s combined ‘industry promotional’ videos yielded in views in over a year. Why the huge gap in the public response?  Where is MHI’s expertise, clout, or bottom line results for factory built housing professionals?

The next video is brand new from Dwell, but already blows away the response to MHI’s promotional videos.

The public found these videos of interest. That means that you as industry professionals, and we as pro-growth industry trade media should too.

We also want to take a moment to thank our readers, clients, news tip sources, and sponsors for their input and support this year and the days ahead. We as digital publishers and industry pros truly want ‘all the best’ for our industry, our industry’s customers, the nation, and world.

The best rarely happens by accident. It comes from understanding, testing, and finally systems are developed that routinely result in consistent performance.

Factory home building is part of the future. Together, we will continue to explore the potential, and see our respective roles in shaping and profiting from that future.

Don’t just enjoy the videos, think – why are so many viewing these videos? What does the number of views of this video suggest or say to you? That’s this morning’s MH “Industry News, Tips, and Views Pros Can Use,” © where “We Provide, You Decide.”  © ## (News , analysis, and commentary.)

Mayor Sounds Off on UMH Properties – Data, Documents, & More

October 30th, 2018 Comments off

ColumbiaTNMayorSoundsOffUMHPropertiesDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

Mayor Dean Dickey of Columbia, Tennessee was asked to comment via video about Countryside Village location of UMH Properties.

As a housekeeping note for this report, recent data and information from UMH Properties (UMH) will be laced between some other commentary which may not be directly related to the slide/illustration shown.

The video comment by Mayor Dickery are pleasant, but frankly it isn’t compelling dialogue.  The video is grainy, so the Daily Business News on MHProNews shrank the image to make it appear better. Full size, it is not very clear, which may reduce its impact for possible viewers.

That said, the idea to ask a mayor for comments can be prudent. Done professionally, it can be powerful.  This UMH video thus provided a ‘compare and contrast’ ‘teachable moment’ opportunity that public officials can be asked for statements, but also reveals how that can best be done. An example of how that is accomplished is found on MHLivingNews, and is also shown in the video below. Compare the two videos, and then push onto the latest UMH data.

These videos provide a backdrop to new data, documents, and images from UMH Properties, one of the largest manufactured home community operators in the U.S.  The video below is from their 50th anniversary annual meeting last year.

UMH is headquartered in a state that is not currently too manufactured housing friendly. Most of UMH’s locations are in other states. With a GOP contender Bob Hugin in surprisingly in striking distance in the deep blue “Garden State” of a scandal-ridden Senator Bob Menendez (NJ-D), this is also a reminder that the midterms are the time to vote for pro-business, pro-growth politicos.

The UMH data is useful not only to investors, but to other industry professionals for a variety of reasons.

1oUMHPropertiesSamePropertyNetOperatingIncomeGrowthIRPresentationDailyBusinessNewsManufacturedHomeCommunitiesIndustryMHProNews

It is also a reminder that while occupancy for manufactured home communities is rising – not only at UMH, but nationally too – it foreshadows a coming ‘wall’ for producers, if the industry’s leaders fail to address the numerous SWOT issues that MHProNews and/or the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) have raised for years.

11UMHPropertiesRentalUnitIncomeIRPresentationDailyBusinessNewsManufacturedHomeCommunitiesIndustryMHProNews

Some of these topics are not raised by other in industry trade media. Why not?  Is it because it would prove embarrassing for the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), which other publishers are often paid mouth-pieces for – via ads or other gimmies?

Speaking of MHI, almost a week has gone by since MHARR published an update from HUD about an issue that MHI was also advised of by HUD.  Why didn’t MHI email their own members?  They’ve sent out other messages, why not on this topic of interest to retailers and communities?  ICYMI, or need a refresher, see the linked report, below.

The potential for growth in manufactured housing is nothing short of astonishing.  But so long as short sighted, gutless, red-herring, fig-leaf, and/or manipulative strategies are in place that harm smaller firms to the long-term gain of ‘big boy’ producers, the industry will remain limited.

14UMHPropertiesExpansionOpportunitiesIRPresentationDailyBusinessNewsManufacturedHomeCommunitiesIndustryMHProNews

That’s avoidable for individual firms. As UMH President Landy has said to MHProNews, it is up to individual companies to do their own marketing and sales.

One network commentator said that Hurricane Michael coming on shore was like the force of an E4 Tornado that lasted for 30 minutes, instead of 30 seconds. It’s not a perfect analogy, but paints several images that many don’t realize. Among them, that tornadoes typically only stay on the ground for a few minutes or less, while a major hurricane rumbles slowly over the terrain, with the ability to create storm surge, flooding, as well as wind damage.  That’s why the hurricane losses are rapidly into the billions, instead of millions, of dollars.

MH Industry Reports, Video Insights

Just west of the bulls-eye in the Florida Panhandle – near Mobile, Alabama – a manufactured home community operator told MHProNews that there was no damage at all to his property.  He thanked us for checking in.

ManufacturedHomeSurvivesHurricaneMichaelNotMobileHomePhotoStillFromVideoDailyBusinessNEwsMHPronews

A manufactured home retailer in Panama City, Florida told the Daily Business News on MHProNews yesterday afternoon that they had not yet been able to access their location, but expected serious problems. Most in the directly impacted areas are still without power. By contrast, the same company has a location north-north west of the Villages that suffered no reported problems.

Several factories we heard from said that they had not heard from FEMA, but one HUD Code builder said that they had been contacted by a FEMA supplier.  They informed MHProNews that they declined to participate in supplying homes.

HurricaneMichaelStilWashingtonPostVideoPostedBelowDailyBuisnessNewsMHproNews

Still from the WaPo video posted further below. It is not entirely clear if this is conventional housing, commercial, or something else.

Sources are telling MHProNews that there seems to be a shift at FEMA towards using more RVs, and using fewer Manufactured Housing Units (MHUs).  But there are still thousands of such units in FEMAs inventor. There is an expectation that they will be put to work in the Carolinas and Florida too.

We checked video footage from various media outlets.

One of the hardest-hit spots in Florida is Mexico Beach, where Michael crashed ashore Wednesday as a Category 4 monster with 155 mph winds on Oct. 11. It shows damage to conventional housing and commercial buildings too.

Some videos appeared to show what looked like manufactured home communities in the distance, but the views were too brief to be useful. This one below isn’t an inspiring video, but it shows what apparently was an older pre-HUD Code mobile home (MH), or perhaps an early HUD Code manufactured home. The MH was twisted, but the problem was a tree falling on it.

A still in the cheesy video above shows extensive damage along a stretch of beachfront property, where block-after-block of conventional housing was leveled.  They source for that video cites the family in that ‘mobile home’ with the tree toppled on it telling CNN that they planned to continue in their ‘mobile home,’ even after the storm damage.

We found video of an RV park with overturned recreational vehicles, but no manufactured homes visible in it.

This next video by the Washington Post shows block after block of conventional housing and commercial construction that is damaged. Boats washed up, piers, and other forms of destruction are evident. There is a glimpse of a manufactured home in this video below, which seems to be in good shape.

Time is reporting that, “An insurance company that produces models for catastrophes is estimating Hurricane Michael caused about $8 billion in insured losses.”

We welcome photos, videos and other tips from industry readers who have some first-hand experience or shots.

As more information is developed, we plan to do a follow up report for MHLivingNews. Watch for it.

“Decline of Extreme Poverty in Perspective,” Infographic, Report

September 21st, 2018 Comments off

DeclineOfExtremePovertyInPerspectiveInfographicReportDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

We’ve been trained by the media to think that things are always getting worse – including on subjects like poverty,” said Visual Capitalist in comments to the Daily Business News on MHProNews.

For example,” Jeff Desjardins wrote, “a recent survey showed that 87% of respondents thought that global poverty rates haven’t changed, or have gotten worse, over the last 30 years. However, the exact opposite is true.”

One billion people have been lifted out of extreme poverty since 1990,” the statement continued, with the provided infographic “putting the important issue into the context of data.”

We’ll look at the infographic, and then after, address how this can prove useful to managers, owners, investors and others.

Facts Matter, and Where Poverty Still Exists

The United States and the West has played a role in spreading rising incomes to much of the world, through trade, investments, grants, and aide. That doesn’t mean that there hasn’t been corruption or waste in those efforts. But it does reflect that conditions have steadily improved.

Let’s briefly note that third world countries have a keen interest in prefab housing.

The chart above doesn’t specify the causes behind why extreme poverty still exists.

FurniPodMiniLoftPrefabHomesThirdWorldCompaniesDailyBusinessNEwsMHProNEws

The videos above and below are for illustration purposes only. The closing still below is interesting, as those are solar panels on the roofs of those prefab units.

Dedicated Daily Business News on MHProNews readers know that Venezuela, North Korea, Cuba, and Haiti are among the nations where it is found, and the causes are often tied to their governments. Rephrased, nations with severe corruption and socialism are key causes.

But so too are areas impacted by war, narco-terror, and other terrorist-connected activity.

The related reports are important to consider, as you share these with team members or those you know that may be influenced by the rising belief – especially among millennials – of socialism in the U.S. See too the videos on Poverty, Inc., Shadows of Liberty, and more in the related reports, linked below.

New Records Achieved, Who Gets JOLT Credit? Surprising Insights for MHVille

September 13th, 2018 Comments off

NewRecordsAchievedWhoGetsJOLTCreditSurprisingInsightsMHVilleDailyBUsinessNewsMHProNews

The U.S. Labor Department’s Job Openings and Labor Turnover (JOLT) Survey reported a new high this week, approaching the 7 million mark.  Those in manufactured housing are all-too-familiar with this number in a practical way, because factory-builders and others tell the Daily Business News on MHProNews that competition for labor is growing more intense.

CNBC’s breakdown of the Labor Department data revealed the following highlights:

  • Vacancies outnumbered those classified as unemployed by 659,000 for the month, an unprecedented trend that began earlier this year. Openings rose by 117,000 from June, to 6.94 million, and are up 737,000 over the past year, a nearly 12 percent increase, the department said in its monthly Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey.
  • The “quits” rate, an indicator of worker confidence as it measures those who left their positions voluntarily, also hit a record of 3.6 million, a gain of 106,000, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics records that go back to December 2000. The quits rate of 2.4 percent is the highest recorded since April 2001 and was up one-tenth of a percentage point from a month ago.
  • Professions registering the biggest gains in job openings were finance and insurance at 46,000 and nondurable goods manufacturing, with 32,000. Openings decreased in retail (-85,000), educational services (-34,000) and federal government (-19,000).
  • New hires totaled 5.68 million, a marginal increase from June but also a series high and an increase of 3.3 percent from the same month a year ago.

MHProNews curates information from a variety of sources across the left-right divide for good reasons. Among them, doing so provides a reality check to those who only get their news mainly from media that lean left, or lean right.

CNBC is left-leaning, and tends to be anti-Trump and pro-Democratic.  Who says?  Among others, former CBS News investigative correspondent in their Washington bureau, award-winner – and now independent journalist, Sharyl Attkisson.

CNBCLeftRightMediaSharylAttkissonDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

So this analysis by Jeff Cox of CNBC on who should get credit for the economic records being achieved is all-the-more interesting.

What MH Associations, Trade Groups Say

Manufacturing has also reported new records.  The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), a trade association of some 325,000 members – which sources there say includes hundreds from the manufactured housing industry – has also hit new highs in business confidence.

Regrettably, while many sectors are hitting new records, manufactured housing is still struggling to crawl back to the 100,000-shipment level.  This is one of many reasons why the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) – an independent-producers (HUD Code home production) trade association – has for years said that a new post-production association is needed.

Double-Digit HUD Code Manufactured Home Production Growth In July 2018, MHARR

The Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) is the industry’s self-proclaimed umbrella trade group – including production and post-production – members.  Their own claim puts the onus on them to lead a more robust retail sales recovery.  MHI messages to their affiliates and members routinely take credit for almost anything that might appear to be good coming out of Washington, but the bottom line numbers are a metric that they can’t – or shouldn’t – ignore.

The new manufactured home shipments data tell a different story than the one that the overall U.S. economy is experiencing.

Why?

It’s an important issue for every independent, some of whom never experienced the industry’s higher producing glory days.  As a recent MHProNews report reveals, RV’s went from trailing manufactured housing in 1998, to surpassing manufactured housing only a few years later.  Today, RVs outsell manufactured housing by some 5 to 1.

RVsshipmentsTrailedMH1998WinnebagoDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

MHI?  What about what MHI award-winner Marty Lavin called the “Big Boys” – including those associated with Berkshire Hathaway?

How do those ‘big boys’ and the association they dominate explain closing 100 sales centers in recent years, while RVs continue to grow?

SoTheAssociationMHIIsNotThereFortheIndustryUnlesstheinterestsoftheBigBoysJointheIndustry'sMartyLavinMHIAwardWinnerQuoteMHProNews

MHProNews looks at the facts, considers the sources, and follows the evidence. MHI earlier last year, and for years before, MHI routinely replied promptly to all inquiries. But since we’ve spotlighted the problems and concerns, they’ve gone silent. Why? If the facts are on their side, why not make offer a cogent explanation?

There are a growing number of industry voices that believe that BH/CMH and MHI have by various action/inaction has kept manufactured home sales at historically low levels. The silence of MHI and Clayton on such bottom-line issues that really matter – like new home sales levels – is deafening, isn’t it?

ManufacturedHomeMHShipments1990-2017DailybusinessNewsManufacturedHousingMHProNews

President Donald J. Trump promises reforms in regulatory and taxation that would spur job growth. He’s delivering on those promises, as NFIB and other groups have applauded.

As the midterms loom, keep in mind four words that President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, who hails from manufactured home producing Indiana, have been saying for months: “Promises Made, Promises Kept.”

“Growth,” “Fight on to Victory,” “One People, One Family, and One Glorious Nation Under God”

The ability for independents, and businesses of all sizes, to success in a pro-business, pro-jobs growth environment are obvious.

The fact that many of these JOLT report jobs are in sectors that former President Barack Obama said were never coming back proves just how wrong he and Secretary Hillary Clinton were, and just how right the policy proposals of the Trump team have been.

Clayton, Clintons, Buffett, Then and Now…

There are those in the industry who take a ‘see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil,’ approach. But as Albert Einstein once observed, if you had an hour to devise a plan to solve a problem, he’d spend 55 minutes learning the background issues related to the problem, and then would spend 5 minutes devising and proposing the solution. Yesterday, MHProNews provided the following report, which has already had thousands of hits.

“Toxic Trailers” – Clayton Homes, Warren Buffett, Kevin Clayton, Clintons – Exposé Videos

With that above report in mind, the following video documentary on the Clintons takes on a new meaning.

This video is an hour and 4o minute long, so you better do this during off time.  The documentary video walks viewers step-by-step, interviewing state and federal investigators, witnesses, and shows corroborating documents. As an FYI for those considering the claims in the video below who may be new to such issues, the Clintons both were associated with Arkansas’ Rose Law Firm. Note that a simple Google search will turn up several articles from mainstream media that confirm many of the topical allegations raised.

The above concerns and controversies noted, why did Warren Buffett and the Claytons want anything to do with the Clintons?  Donald J. Trump has said that it pays to know as much as you can about something that affects your life or profession.  Doesn’t the advice by the businessman-turned-president make even more sense?
