Huge New Factory-Built Home Wholesale Liquidation Event Announced

It’s an event that’s more than double the size of the Louisville manufactured housing trade show’s display.

This brand-new event is also much larger than the number of manufactured and tiny homes displayed at the factory-built housing industry’s Tunica Show.

Who’s making this special event happen?

AmericasFastestGrowingPrivateCompaniesINC5000ManufacturedHousingLegacyHousingDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

Out of millions of privately owned businesses, to be named to this prestigious list is an amazing accomplishment.

Out of millions of American businesses, they’ve been named as “one America’s Fastest Growing Companies” by Inc. Magazine.

Even during the industry’s most difficult times, the strong rise of Legacy Housing in Texas – and beyond – has been observed with keen interest by manufactured home industry professionals, and investors.

Legacy is now announcing a giant “hurricane overrun liquidation sale” at their Eatonton, GA facilities.

The upcoming event – set for September 12 and 13, 2018 – is for manufactured home communities and retailers, – a wholesale buyers only extravaganza.

So, it is not open to the general public.

Less than 2 years ago, Legacy moved into the expansive factory home building facility once operated by Horton Homes.

So Legacy Housing now has one of the largest factory home building production centers – perhaps the biggest in the country – according to various industry sources.  That means, they’re poised to support the growing demand for manufactured homes in the Southeastern U.S., including Florida and Tennessee.

A Legacy Retailer Sounds Off

The Daily Business News reached out to a Legacy Housing retailer that’s sold their products for several years for comments about the popular, and growing company.

Legacy is a partner you can grow with long term. Very good product, they have special retail financing programs, and a liberal floorplan [wholesale financing] program for their dealers too,” said Gus Rodriguez, a principal at Tejas Homes.

Management sources at Legacy tell MHProNews that they are now the #4 producer of HUD Code manufactured homes in the U.S. It’s an impressive rise to prominence in a short period of time.

Their leadership’s eyes are set on more growth. As prices on new inventory have been rising for all builders, this Legacy event offers manufactured home (MH) retailers and MH Communities in the South Eastern U.S., Florida, and Tennessee the opportunity to restock at special prices and terms.

While Rolfe and Fath have different approaches to the media, each uses media to drive their respective narratives – and business.

(Editor’s Note: MHI has not formally responded to an invitation to have their communication VP present on this panel, but the latest indirect indication obtained by MHProNews is that they will not be participating.)

The Tunica Manufactured Housing Show Will Go On!

June 26th, 2014 Comments off

dennis-hill-showways-unlimited-host-l-a-tony-kovach=mhpronews-manufacturedhomes-com-manufactured-housing-news-Questions have been coming in about the status of the 2015 Tunica Show, given Harrah’s closure of the site where the manufactured housing show has been held for the past 17 years.

Dennis Hill at Show Ways Unlimited, the trade show’s coordinator, has told us that alternative options are in hand. Plans that incorporate those options are being considered and that a recent trip to Tunica with Keith Bennett – the Tunica Show Chairman – identified backup options, should those be needed.

“The Show will go on, there is no question about that fact.” said Dennis Hill to MHProNews.com. “Once all the details are worked out, we will make a formal announcement. Exhibitors and attendees alike should plan for a 2015 Tunica Show that will be as robust as ever.”

As a programing note, RV MH Hall of Fame inductee Dennis Hill will be featured in an upcoming exclusive video interview in July, in a behind the scenes look at what happens at a trade show such as Louisville or Tunica. Hill is one of the under-sung heroes of our industry, and the video will be of keen interest to thousands of industry professionals.

That video and article with Dennis Hill will go live on the MHProNews home page – along with 9 other “Inside MH” videos, A Cup of Coffee with…Barry Cole (soon to be inducted into the RV-MH Hall of Fame) plus other new featured articles and reports. The new features should be live by this time next week. ##

Even with Thunderstorms, Tunica Pre-Show Estimates Exceeded

March 30th, 2014 Comments off

2014-tunica-manufactured-housing-show-entrance-south-central-manufactured-housing-institute-harrah's-convention-center-tunica-msWhile weather and other factors kept some potential attendees away, preliminary figures from Show Ways Unlimited and the registration company indicted that a total of 2195 professionals attended the 2014 Tunica Manufactured Housing Show.  Pre-Show estimates on total professionals expected at this year’s event were for 2100 total.

The timing of Ceasar’s Entertainments public announcement on March 26 that their Harrah’s Tunica property would be closed may have confused some potential attendees.

Sources close to the Show speculated that the property may still be sold prior to the June 2 planned closing date for the casino and hotels.  If indeed the property closes, a few ideas were floated for new potential locations for the show, including a new all indoor location in Nashville, TN.

One way or another, this March Manufactured Housing Show is expected to continue on.

Post show commentary and videos are expected in April’s Featured Articles on MHProNews, on the Industry Voices guest blog and on the Cutting Edge blog. ##

MH Community, Retailers and Builder/Developers Swell

March 8th, 2013 Comments off

tunica-manufactured-home-show-crowd-mhpronews-com-MHProNews
has learned that the latest totals for manufactured home community professionals as well as builder/developers registered for the 2013 Tunica Show has more than doubled over last year at this time. Manufactured Home Retailer registrations are up some 22.5% over the same time in 2012.

In a statement, show coordinator Dennis Hill said: “This represents an increase of 186 additional attendees when you compare last year with this year at the same time.  Things continue to look good for the Tunica Show.” This is similar to the trend that took place for the Louisville Show earlier this year, when attendance rose some 30% over the previous year. “With shipment levels up for January 2013 over last year, and housing starts and manufactured home shipments expected to rise by some 15% over 2012, there are bottom line reasons for professionals to attend Tunica, where you can easily compare products and services side by side.” said MHProNews publisher and show promoter L. A. “Tony” Kovach. MH Community Series Homes along with dozens of other retailer and builder/developer models will be showcased.

At the current registrations pace, a total of 2200+ industry professionals could attend, making it the largest and best attended industry event of the year. The Tunica Show opens at 9 AM March 27 and runs until noon on March 29th. For more details, see the story by Show Chairman Keith Bennett linked here.
