‘Use Government to Handcuff Your Rivals, Clever’ – Stossel

November 14th, 2018 Comments off

Still from video below, but the headline graphic is by MHProNews.

What’s the “Enemy of Capitalism?”  That’s a question that John Stossel asks in this thought-provoking video.

There are good reasons for taking a ‘wheat and chaff’ approach to information sourcing. Sometimes it will be the Washington Post, but at other times, it may be the Washington Examiner or the Hill. A progressive may be wrong on some topics but could be correct on another.  The same is true for a Democrat, libertarian, or a given Republican, etc.

Full Measure’s Sharyl Attiksson’s media bias chart is useful in sorting out the agendas behind various headlines and news sources.

In a brand new video, John Stossel takes a look at the question, “who is the enemy of capitalism?”

The video opens with democratic socialist supporter Senator Bernie Sanders recent attack on: Amazon. Sanders said Amazon didn’t pay its workers enough and because of that, many qualified for government assistance.

Stossel build the narrative, one step at a time, until he gets to the headline statement, above.  So don’t bail 3 minutes into a video that is less than 7 minutes long, and has had 10x more views in a day than Clayton Homes’ image campaign video has had in a year.

EnemyofCapitalismJohnStosselFoxDaillyBusinessNewsMHproNews

To see our fact check of the Clayton image campaign, see the new report, linked here.

Stossel nails in a general way an issue that MHProNews has raised for years that is specifically impacts manufactured housing.  Namely, that Big Companies are using the levers of government power to outmaneuver, force out of business, or even gobble up smaller firms.

It’s a vexing pattern that goes beyond our industry, but must be grasped with open eyes by MH Professionals – including those who work for a giant company like Clayton. Socialism belongs in the dustbin of history

With the 200th anniversary of Karl Marx’s birth, socialism is making a comeback in America. Democrats used to accuse Republicans of fear-mongering when they called out certain far-left policy ideas as “socialist.” Now, a growing number of Democrats are wearing the label as a badge of honor.

American socialists may imagine their proposals mirror those in Northern European countries such as Sweden and Norway. In reality, ideas along the lines of “Medicare for All” have more in common with economists’ traditional definition of socialism. The record of countries who have experimented with those types of command-and-control systems is devastating: Maoist China, the Soviet Union, and Venezuela among them.

Something to share: Socialism has a long legacy of failure across the world.

The sky-high taxes needed to fund “Medicare for All” alone, for example, would lead to a staggering $17,000 drop in household incomes after taxes and healthcare expenditures—a 19 percent decline. Without taxing American workers, funding this radical plan would require cuts to half of the Federal budget, wrecking Medicaid, Social Security, and traditional Medicare in the process.

Socialist policies have failed across the world wherever they are tested. They have no place in the United States of America.

Get the facts: What Democrats will take from you to push their socialist agenda.

MHProNews Summing Up Threats

There are numerous threats, from inside and outside manufactured housing that several industry voices have signaled for years.  Some of those other voices that have been warning the industry have arguably been ‘bought off.’  Others continue to sound their respective alarms.

The time to act is now.  The logical first next step – the most time sensitive – is to do all you can in your market(s) and circles of influence to support the candidates that support President Donald J. Trump.  As the reports linked above and below reveal, MHI and those who back them purportedly are continuing to work to sideline lending options, and have taken positions that put the industry’s independents at risk.

What Are Millennials Thinking? Affordable Housing, Manufactured Homes, Other Time-Sensitive Trends

Studious, acute Daily Business News on MHProNews readers may recall our report from earlier this year that references the factoid that millennials are now the largest age-group of home buyers.

As with many of our topics, related articles are cross-linked.

Those linked articles can be read later for greater understanding on a specific point.

It should also be noted that skim-readers often miss some detail(s) that can change the entire meaning of an article.

Simple advice?

Read with care, and you’ll be surprised at what you walk away with from every MHProNews post.  If the industry’s best known billionaire thinks careful reading is good, that’s a useful insight, isn’t it?

NAR, Gen Y and MH Takeaways

The National Association of Realtors ® (NAR) produced the core study last spring that included data about Gen Y with respect to housing.

NationalAssociationRealtorsLogoNARLogoMillennialsGenYManufacturedHousingIndustryMHProNews

NAR, in our experience, has demonstrated that their research aims at accuracy, not weaponization.

For example, when our publisher contacted NAR about factual errors in their 2018 research about manufactured homes, their researcher double-checked the concerns, and then made each correction promptly.  Scholastica ‘Gay’ Cororaton, Certified Business Economist (CBE) then took the added step of giving public credit for those corrections in her very first footnote.

ScholasticaGayCororatonCBENARRevisionsRealtorUniversityDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews598x493

Accuracy matters, and giving credit to sources matters to third parties.

Realtor University ® “The Market for Manufactured Homes,” Research by Scholastica Cororaton, Certified Business Economist, Highlights

Sadly, by contrast, when the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) has been contacted by our publisher about factual errors on numerous reports and documents.  That has occurred for a period of over 2 years.  Time and again, weeks or months later – corrections were not made by MHI.  The reader can ponder the ‘why’ behind that phenomenon, but millennials are the focus of this specific report, not MHI.

So, when NAR says that millennials are the largest group of home-buyers, there have been no known reports that debunk their claim.

Then, let’s look at the following facts and infographics, that provide snapshots of millennials at that moment in time.

Millennials, MHAction, and Manufactured Housing Professionals

If you scratch deeply enough, people of good will can routinely find common-ground with others. Considering other perspectives is useful.

MHProNews noted in a report earlier today that all good bi-partisanship benefits businesses of all sizes, not just the giants.

Affordable Housing, Manufactured Homes, Bipartisanship, Bill, Newt, Sexual Scandals, and You

Bi-partisanship furthermore should be good for consumers, and taxpayers too.

LATonyKovachGoodBipartisanshipShouldalwaysBepredicatedBenefitallhonestindustrymembersnotslectfewquote

MHAction and Millennials

Against that backdrop, MHAction is a multi-generational group, but with relatively youthful leadership at the national level.

If you watch the following MHAction video, you’ll note that Elizabeth Warren (MA-D) is front-and-center as part of their presentation. The golden-ager at the start of their video posted further below – Margie Mathers – tells a heart-strings story, that may well be true, as far as it goes.

StillFromMHActionVideoMHActionLogoSenatorElizabethWarrenDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

But what’s arguably missing from Mathers’ statements in the MHAction video are similar to what was missing from NMHOA’s President, Tim Sheahan’s comments to regulators. It’s the cause of the issues they are concerned about, rather than just the symptoms.

When:

  • capital or government barriers of entry into business,
  • or barriers to remain in business, are too high for small businesses,
  • then you end up with precisely what Ms. Mathers and Mr. Sheahan have each described.
  • I.e.: larger corporations that control businesses, instead of many smaller ones.  Oddly, their own comments indicate smaller firms tend to be responsive to their residents and customers.

An MHAction video, which includes commentary and analysis on the left side of the screen, is shown below.  It includes Gen Y protestors, but is multi-generational.

Self-described progressive groups like MHAction or NMHOA should be open to the views of fellow progressives, and of course, other groups too.

  • It was the left-leaning Seattle Times that reasoned earlier this year that when a large company can ‘get away with’ poor behavior toward their customers, that is an indicator of monopoly.
  • The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) has argued that more options for siting manufactured homes would be good for residents, as well as for independent businesses.  Zoning and placement are a post-production issue, so that’s one that MHARR may comment on, but they are a producers’ organization.  So they stay laser focused on issues that directly impact the regulation of HUD Code manufactured homes.
  • What Ms. Mathers said on camera in the MHAction video above was largely fine, while her community was owned by a ‘mom and pop’ operation. By her own statement, it was after her community was acquired by a big company that she said her problems occurred. Mr. Sheahan made a similar statement, in quotes and a document found as a download in the report linked below.

Tim Sheahan, NMHOA President, Controversial Points of Agreement with Marty Lavin, George Allen on Communities

The MHAction video posted above is edited by them to make it into an arguably classic manipulation video.  It uses emotion to advance an agenda.  That agenda is debatably bad for those residents, and for private enterprise too.  So a careful look at all the elements at play undermine what MHAction, and their political allies, want to accomplish with their video, as posted further above.  It is useful to see their methods at work, in their own words.

MHActionProtestorsLogoACORNMoveOnNewYorkCommunitiesforChnngeMHActionLogoDailyBusinessNewsMHproNews

When their fellow traveler, President Barack Obama (D), or Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA-D), promoted heavy regulations as ‘solutions,’ what they and others of like mind created was a trend toward less affordable housing, and more big businesses. That is among the reasons why NMHOA or MHAction members ought to seek to reform or create a new option for manufactured home owners.

Sources have informed MHProNews that billionaire George Soros’ money is involved in the background of MHAction, and other similar progressive or left-wing groups.  The members of NMHOA or MHAction may be well meaning. They need to be heard, properly engaged, and then reasoned with, not dismissed out of hand.

Improving Resale Values: Manufactured Home Owners, Professionals, Shoppers – NMHOA & MHAction, What’s Right, Wrong, Supply & Demand – How to Achieve Mutual Victories

But the leadership of MHAction and NMHOA certainly ought to be well informed as to where their money is coming from.  Those leaders should know how their action fits into a pattern of activity that demonstrably harms the very manufactured home owners and others they claim to be helping.

“Results vs. Resistance,” Cutting Fog with Facts for MHVille

Blackstone Group, Manufactured Home Communities, and MHAction

Blackstone is featured prominently at the end of the MHAction video.  Last July, Blackstone reportedly acquired numerous manufactured home communities, and already had other real estate investments in conventional housing.

Blackstone Brilliantly Bets Big On Manufactured Housing, Enters Manufactured Home Communities Contest

As one of the comments on the still reflects, MHAction is affiliated with other progressive or leftist groups.  They don’t always make that clear in their videos.  Perhaps that is an effort by MHAction to make their numbers seem larger than they actually are.  But that also reveals another challenge and reality.  They are tied to larger organizations – such as George Soros backed Move On, and New York Communities for Change (NYCC) – which emerged from the ashes of scandal plagued ACORN.

Barack Obama, before becoming a U.S. Senator and then the 44th president, was an attorney that had represented ACORN. As PolitiFact said, “When Obama met with ACORN leaders in November 2007, he reminded them of his affinity for ACORN and his time as a Project Vote organizer.”

Earlier today, President Donald J. Trump tweeted about George Soros.  See progressive Vox’s comment about that tweet, and the tweet itself, below.

VoxDonaldJTrumpDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

Our afternoon report focused on bipartisanship, and the times when it is or isn’t appropriate.  It is all part of the puzzle that once understood, reveals how smaller businesses, would be and current manufactured home owners are often harmed by poor public policy, or groups that have an agenda that is not in alignment with the interests of manufactured home owners and independent businesses.

Millennials and Public Policy

Industry pros are reminded again than public polling can be tilted by push-polls, over-or-under sampling of a group or party, and other techniques that can twist the meaning of the survey.

BuzzfeedMaruBlueSurveyMillennialsManufacturedHousingIndustryDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

Polling is arguably used by various media to motivate – or demotivate – various groups of potential voters, donors, and activists.

2016PresidentialVoteWhoDidYouVoteForHillaryClintonDonaldTrumpGaryJohnsonJillSteinOtherMillennialBuzzfeedMaruBluePollSurveyDailyBusinessNewsMHproNews

With those caveats, let’s dive into what the most recent polling says about millennials and their political views, which obviously can impact the legal and thus the business environment in America.

In order to better understand the political landscape in advance of the midterm election, and from the point of view of American millennials, BuzzFeed News and Maru/Blue teamed up to conduct an online survey of 1,006 randomly selected 22-37- year-olds,” said the opening from their detailed polling.

PresidentDonaldTrumpProConApproveDisapproveMillennialsBuzzfeedMaruBluePollDailyBusinessNewsMHproNews

The BuzzFeed – Maru/Blue survey made similar points to others that have been reported by the Daily Business News on MHProNews. Note that BuzzFeed teamed up with the Seattle Times on one of their Clayton Homes exposés.

If accurate, their survey suggests that the tilt toward socialism could be more profound than other polls so far have reflected.

Owner/Investor Cautionary Tale?

It isn’t only millennials that may lack critical-thinking skills.

But the data suggests that more Gen Y in the U.S. are more likely to be ‘buy into’ socialist promises.

You can’t force someone to vote or think this or that way, but you can share information with them.  That is the better long-term approach anyway. The maxim, “Those who are convinced against their will, are of the same opinion still” applies. So does this axiom, “Give a man to fish, and you feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Stunning Degree of Corruption, Collusion, Manipulation, and Ignorance Threatens MHVille

August 24th, 2018 Comments off

StunningDegreofCorruptionCOllusionIgnoranceThreatensMHVille

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie.” – Joseph Goebbels, Adolf Hitler’s minster of propaganda, per the Jewish Virtual Library, and citing ThinkExist.

Earlier this week, after the news of the Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen verdict and guilty pleas, The Drudge Report noted that the mainstream media had used the word “impeach” over 200 times in 24 hours.

There is no degree in medicine or psychology needed to realize that when something is repeated that often, in so short a time span, it has an impact on a significant part of the population.

There is no need to buy into a ‘conspiracy theory,’ because facts are facts. It’s about looking at the evidence dispassionately, not emotionally, because emotions are what’s often manipulated. Understanding the truth of an issue in doubt or controversy is about considering the evidence about an issue from several angles.  That’s how the truth is discovered in turbulent times.

The odds of impeaching Donald J. Trump are arguably low, because the constitutional requirements sets a two tier process, neither one of which is easy to meet. “At the federal level, Article I, Section 2, Clause 5 of the Constitution grants to the House of Representatives “the sole power of impeachment”, and Article I, Section 3, Clause 6 grants to the Senate “the sole Power to try all Impeachments,” per Wikipedia.

So in this case, the phrase “impeachment” is more about its usefulness as a political narrative tool. It is a rallying cry for those who lost the last election. Democrats, Republicans and all others are being asked to respond to the notion of impeachment in the upcoming midterms.

Stunning

Facts are facts no matter how often lies are repeated. The byline writer is an MD by training, and thus had to take psychology as part of the courses needed to obtain a medical degree. With that understanding, it is stunning to note that several notable attorneys, including Democratic supporter Alan Dershowitz, has cast doubt that any crime has been committed by the Donald J. Trump in the alleged payments – even if those payments to porn stars took place.

Attorney, author, radio and TV talker Mark Levin has said that an abuse of power has taken place. Why?  Because former Trump attorney Michael Cohen plead guilty to a crime that is in fact no crime at all.  That being so, it would directly reflect on high levels of the Department of Justice (DoJ) too. Those are views held by other attorneys, and of course, the other side has their taking heads too.

So, to discern reality, one must step back and reflect on the evidence and competing claims.

It was so-called “Russian collusion” that was the supposed predicate for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe. Why did that fall into the background?  Simply put, no evidence exists for it.  All that exists are often repeated allegations, with no proof offered, other than a dicey dossier paid for in part by the Clinton campaign.

A juror in the Paul Manafort case, who admits she voted for Donald Trump, said Manafort was guilty of the tax related crimes he was accused of, but said she believed the matter only came to light because President Trump is the target. They want to get him any way that they can.

The mostly progressive voices on the compelling documentary video Shadows of Liberty, linked below, stressed the high degree of control of the news media in America by 6 major conglomerates. They decide what is news, said former CBS anchor Dan Rather and a host of others cited in the documentary video have said.

“Shadows of Liberty” Movie Introduction, Affordable Housing, and You

President Trump doesn’t say that all news in America is corrupted. But the president – and the White House press room, which supplies MHProNews with numerous daily updates – do say that significant portions of the media reflect a strong bias against him.

As if to prove the point, the Boston Globe organized over 300 newspapers to do editorials that say that the news media is not the “enemy of the people.” But what the president has clarified is that it is fake news that’s the enemy, and not all news is fake.

Deepa Kumar quote from from the thought-provoking video documenatary, Shadows of Liberty, posted on the page linked here.

No Choir Boy

The Access Hollywood/Billy Bush video in 2016 made it abundantly clear to Americans that candidate Donald J. Trump was not a choir boy. Evangelicals, blue collar, and others nevertheless turned out to vote for him by the tens of millions. Normally blue states like Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania flipped for Donald Trump, knowing about allegations very much in keeping with what porn star Stormy Daniels or others like her have more recently allege.

People voted to make Donald Trump President based upon his policies, and/or to oppose the policies of Secretary Hillary Clinton.

A massive smear campaign is clearly underway. It is not unlike the Billy Bush video of Donald Trump in 2016, hoping to separate the president from his supporters.  It is insignificant if the claims of Daniels – or if an army of hookers – stepped forward and proved their ‘relationships’ with candidate or citizen Trump.  Legal experts say that it is not illegal to pay someone to be quiet. All else is routinely a repeated smoke screen, advanced by those who have an anti-Trump agenda.

ThomasSowellQuoteIfPeopleInMediaCannotDecideWhetherTheyAreInNewsReportingbusinessorManufacturingPropagandaMoreImportantForPublicchoseNewssourcesAccordingly

Note, this advice holds for MHVille trade media readers too. Thanks for more than doubling our already industry- leading readership in the last 12 months. Our thanks too for our supporters, who make this platform possible.

MHVille and Why it Matters

For MHVille:

  • S 2155 would never have taken place under Hillary Clinton, if she held true to her promises to defend Dodd-Frank and the CFPB.
  • Secretary Clinton would not have done the tax cuts.  Virtually every manufactured home industry business has benefited from that, as have the majority of workers.
  • It was candidate Trump who pledged – and has kept his word – that he would massively roll back regulations.  There was no such pledge by Clinton.  As Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and others are proving, if the GOP lost control of Congress, regulations could come roaring back with a vengeance.
  • Jobs in mining, energy, and manufacturing are returning under President Trump.  Then President Barack Obama mocked Mr. Trump about during the campaign, that those jobs and industries would never come back. Secretary Clinton doubled down on comments like “the deplorables.” She too spoke about jobs that would never come back, which are now, due to the 45th president’s leadership.

Certainly, even many Trump supporters are not comfortable with certain tweets and tactics.

But in spite of a historic blizzard of news coverage that is some 90 percent against him, POTUS Trump’s approval has been rising nationally. Black and other minority support has nearly doubled since he took office. Among the clear reasons why is the lowest unemployment levels in decades.  Business and consumer confidence alike have soared during his time in office.

Mr. Trump is a businessman, who comes from the housing and construction fields.  What more needs be said, is reflected by the MHARR video interview, shown below.  It must be emphasized for clarity, that MHARR takes no sides in political campaigns. They have no PAC, as MHI does.  So when prior MHARR President, now senior advisor, Danny Ghorbani speaks about the president and his administration in this short interview, that must be kept in mind.

The midterms are racing up. Congressional voting is just over two months away. The agenda-driven voices in the media apparently hope to smear the president, and suppress turnout among his supporters.

That’s a critical issue – what’s best for MHVille and the nation – that you and your peers must answer. That is what you and your circle of influence must decide before you vote, or sit on your buns come midterm Election Day.

People are entitled to their own beliefs, but not to their own facts. Which should cause the open minded to ask, what are the facts?

Big government has been among the challenges for manufactured housing (MH) for decades.  So, this is a topic that matters to everyone who makes an honest living in America, including the professionals and investors working in MHVille.

Among the opponents for the manufactured home community sector, and other parts of the industry as well, is the anti-business group, MH Action.  They are often de facto arguing from a socialistic world view. The related report, linked below, can be read later for more depth about that group.

Manufactured Home Community Owner Alert, Rent Control, MHAction Plans Organized Action in Several States

Let’s state that the Daily Business News prefers to use the term ‘free enterprise’ rather than capitalism. Why?  Because the term ‘capitalism’ comes from the pages of the co-father of modern socialism, Karl Marx.

That disclaimer noted, manufactured housing professionals that have hired younger workers are likely to have people on staff who have been led to believe that socialism is good, and that capitalism is evil.

Thus the first video by millennial Ben Shaprio – attorney, writer and TV commentator – destroys the appeal of socialism during the first 2 minutes with a simple proposition that every open minded person can understand.  The rest of the video are useful additional insights, and related facts or logic.  Let’s note that it isn’t just the young that buy into or promote socialism, as Bernie Sanders aptly demonstrates.

Dave Ramsey isn’t a fan of manufactured homes, as the Daily Business News has previously reported. So, he is another example of the importance of selecting the wheat from the chaff, and we all produce both to various degrees.

These two videos are worth sharing with those team members who may have been propagandized into believing something contrary to the decades of evidence that proves that socialism doesn’t works.

Venezuela, Nazi Germany, Communist China or Soviet Russia-  before the later two abandoned pure socialism – are just some of the cases in recent world history why socialism doesn’t work.

It should also be noted that Nazis (“national socialist”) and communists in Russia and China are responsible for more deaths than anything else in world history.

“Death by Government,” Fascism, Communism, Socialism, ‘Big Brother,’ per Williams, Rummel and Owens

Socialism is un-American.  People have the right to believe in it, but they have the same right to believe in the tooth fairy.

People are entitled to their own beliefs, but not to their own facts. With socialism on the rise in America, each of us should do our part to fight off what is strangling Venezuela, Cuba, and other places past and present in the world. Each of us are either part of the solution, or part of the problem. “We Provide, You Decide.” © ## (News, analysis and commentary.)

“Death by Government,” Fascism, Communism, Socialism, ‘Big Brother,’ per Williams, Rummel and Owens

December 20th, 2017 Comments off

DeathByGovtWilliamsRummelDailyBuisnessNewsMHProNewsEducation has always been the key to freedom,” said Clarence Burgess Owens, on Talk Radio AM 1430 in Lakeland, FL.

Owens is a retired safety who played ten seasons in the National Football League for the New York Jets and the Oakland Raiders, states Wikipedia. “He graduated from Rickards High School in Tallahassee, Florida in 1969, and then attended the University of Miami, where he was a 1st-Team All-American defensive back.” On the same radio program, Owens related the shocking statistics of the black community’s decline since he was in school.

Owens points a finger at Democrats, but says that blacks should no longer trust any empty promises by politicians, who should earn their vote based on reality, not fear tactics, and false claims.

20 percent of blacks are conservatives, Owens said, but he expects that total to grow. Why?

There’s a 9 percent decline in home ownership in the last eight years, he said. Median income among blacks is down too.  And that was under America’s first black president, and often in cities that are run by Democrats.

BurgessOwensWebsiteDailyBusinessNewsManufacturedHousingIndustryMHProNews

In the video below, Owens calls some in his community the “royalty black class,” who are “parasites” and “leave nothing behind” as “they move on and live the American Dream.”

Owens faults those that have made it themselves, but want to knock the very system that made their success possible. He believes that people can earn their way to the top – as elite blacks, himself, and others did.  But that must start with a proper education, an understanding of American history, motivation, and principled core values.

President Obama’s in your face liberalism” and its actual negative consequences for blacks are causing many African Americans to wake up, said Owens on the radio, who also stated, “ThatUncle Tom’ thing is getting a little old.

Owens Isn’t Alone, Professor Walter E. Williams, & Rudolph J. Rummel

As MHProNews has noted in recent articles, there is a growing group – notably among millennials, but that spans the generations – that have been fed and bought into a skewed view of America’s political, economic, social, and ethnic history.

Troubling New Study Reveals a Millennial Trend, Business, Economic, Political Impact

Writing in right-of-center Townhall, economics professor emeritus Walter E. Williams, lays out facts about ‘Death by Government.’

The 20th century was mankind’s most brutal century. Roughly 16 million people lost their lives during World War I; about 60 million died during World War II. Wars during the 20th century cost an estimated 71 million to 116 million lives,” said Williams.

The number of war dead pales in comparison with the number of people who lost their lives at the hands of their own governments,” the economist wrote.

Williams cited the “late professor Rudolph J. Rummel of the University of Hawaii documented this tragedy in his book “Death by Government: Genocide and Mass Murder Since 1900.” Some of the statistics found in the book have been updated here,” and doing the math, says that some 262 million died at the hands of their own governments.

The People’s Republic of China tops the list, with 76 million lives lost at the hands of the government from 1949 to 1987,” said Williams. “The Soviet Union follows, with 62 million lives lost from 1917 to 1987. Adolf Hitler’s Nazi German government killed 21 million people between 1933 and 1945. Then there are lesser murdering regimes, such as Nationalist China, Japan, Turkey, Vietnam and Mexico.”

Williams cited several American university and political thinkers who praised communist, Nazi, or socialist leaders, in spite of facts like those cited above.

While this new column by Williams didn’t mention it, Russia and China abandoned their socialist/communist economic principles, because after decades of effort, they were proven not to work.

Venezuela, or Cuba, are other more nearby examples for Americans of now socialistic policies don’t perform as well as the free market.

What has been problematic for those Americans who believe in the free market are a combination of factors.  They include, but are not limited to:

  • The growth of crony capitalism, which along with monopolies, are not in the best long-term interests of the free market.
  • Mandates, notably by the federal government – but also from state and local jurisdictions, each one of which has a cost/risk/impact on the free market. An example of that is outlined in the Dodd-Frank history, and how it played with manufactured homes, found in the article linked below.

  • Those in education, media, entertainment, and politics – that for whatever reasons – are promoting skewed history vs. actual history.  As Guy Benson said recently, in an analysis linked below, “Propaganda works.” ‘Success shaming,’ is also an issue.  Some on the left have made it sound like the money earned by people or companies belongs to the government, instead of to the person or organization that earned it (see the second quote in the Williams bio, shown above).

Benson Demonstrates How “Propaganda Works” on “Most Americans”

The U.S. has never been perfect, but neither has any other nation in history.

When the free market in the U.S. was allowed to operate in a more robust fashion, at one point, America had about 6 percent of the population but had nearly half of the global wealth. But as trade, tax, regulatory, immigration, and other policies were ramped up over time, business and their jobs moved overseas.  The working people in those nations prospered more, while working class Americans wages stagnated, and many groups domestically prospered less.

Influencing the Socialists in Your Office, the Best Way Out of Poverty

The article and short video linked above provides additional insights on the topic. For those with under-informed or uniformed individuals in your office or circle of influence, sharing these principles can only help increase support for plans that cut red tape, and thus keep the pro-growth business reforms underway in Washington moving ahead. “We Provide, You Decide.” © ## (Economic news, analysis, and commentary.)

Troubling New Study Reveals a Millennial Trend, Business, Economic, Political Impact

November 15th, 2017 Comments off

SocialismScreensWomanLookingDailyBusinessNesMHProNewsTruth can be taught and caught.

But so too can error, delusions, deceptions, and lies.

People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one, and if you repeat it frequently enough, people will sooner or later believe it,” said Walter C. Langer, a psychoanalyst.  That observation of Langer’s is very much in keeping with tenants of the propagandists who caused the rise of National Socialists – the Nazis – as well as of communist leaders, like Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, and others.

MHProNews periodically hears and receives unsolicited comments about millennials and their attitudes on issues that impact their work, views and voting.

It’s an issue in the minds of many in management, employers and owners.

Also important, how do people who don’t grasp “the American way” discover the American Dream, including home ownership?  How do those who misunderstand concepts such as free enterprise, and private property respond to policies that may oppose that system and those rights?

HalfMillennialsCorrectlyDefineCapitalismYouGovVictimsOfCommunismManufacturedHomeProfessionalNewsDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews

A new survey performed by YouGov reveals that some 44 percent of Millennials accept socialism, slightly more than those who favor capitalism.

While MHProNews believes that the better term to use is free enterprise as opposed to capitalism – because the term “capitalist” was coined by socialist Karl Marx, and thus plays into their narrative – nevertheless the trend ought to be a concern.

Nor are they alone in holding that or other troubling views.  The study was commissioned by the Victims of Communism, a non-profit group.  It’s called their “Annual Report of U.S. Attitudes Toward Socialism.”

AmericansDividedOnEconomicSystemYouGovVictimsOfCommunismManufacturedHomeProfessionalNewsDailyBusinessNewsMHProNews720

In a release to MHProNews, here are some of that group’s top-line discoveries.

Communism was and is still a problem—up 5% from 2016.

Americans still have a lot to learn about communism 5 7 in 10 Americans either don’t know the definition of communism or misidentify it.

The solution to the divide is more opportunity, not less. See video, below.

7 out of 10 underestimate number killed by communism.  It should be noted that a university researcher in Hawaii has published on a related topic, and he found that those that died under godless Nazi or communist systems far outweighed all those that died in so-called religious wars.

Is something happening in Venezuela? 6 in 10 are unfamiliar with Nicolás Maduro.

Communist leaders are cited as heroes to their countries by 10-20% of Americans.

The entire survey can be downloaded at this link here.

Why Should Business or Investment Professionals be Concerned?

Among the elements of concern that should be of concern to business professionals and politicos are points like these.

Millennials, per the YouGov research, while increasingly understanding of ills of communism, have a disconnect between communism and socialism.  More are willing to opt for socialist nation than a free enterprise based economy.  For those who believe that government is the solution for anything, the very issues – such as affordable housing, that free enterprise is proven for centuries is the best solution – will only increase.

Will Various PreFab, Factory Built Homes Become Los Angeles’ Affordable Housing Solution?

Thus, is it any surprise that so many millennials were willing to support Bernie Sanders in the 2016 Democratic race for their presidential nominee?

America, Manufactured Housing & Debate Over Minimum Wage$

While the Donna Brazile book bruhaha has underscored the “rigged’ nature of that contest, perhaps equally troubling for business professionals and investors is this.  With millions of millennials embracing socialistic concepts, and given their growing influence at the ballot, could the day come that they vote ever more socialists into office?

“Hacks” – Explosive 2016 Campaign Claims by Former DNC Chair, Donna Brazile

Considering what took place in Venezuela, which a decade ago was a relatively prosperous nation, could that happen in America?

arutherBrooksPraegerUMythsLiesCapitalismManufacturedHousingINdustryResearchDataReportsMHProNews

MHProNews intended to continue to develop the industry’s first and still best professional resource that identifies opportunities, doesn’t ignore problem areas, while promoting common-sense solutions. Still from the video below.

The Republic of California…and a Direct MH Connection

An industry professional with deep ties to the community sector of manufactured homes said this to MHProNews in a recently emailed statement. “California does not believe in property rights, plain and simple. We want your single family home rezoned multifamily, so you can’t rebuild your dream home. What’s yours is mine what’s mine is mine.”

Indeed, others in various parts of the country have told MHProNews something similar about their difficulties with local officials, and not always from so-called blue states.

Solutions?

If the roots of the problem are misinformation, isn’t the only solution good information?

The parent company to MHProNews did a test, by hiring a millennial who was a Bernie Sanders supporter. While that person ultimately didn’t work out as a team member, by providing that person who specific reading and viewing assignments, several mistaken economic and political notions where significantly modified.

That person’s work product also improved as a result.

Just as many employers are finding it necessary to do remedial education and training, perhaps the same needs to be done for those workers who may hold to such demonstrably mistaken views.

MHProNews began a periodic series of reports some time ago that focused on general economic, political and other issues – for example, the minimum wage – and how that actually works in practice.

Only understanding and clear thinking can counteract propaganda and deception. Truth can and should prevail, but it will do so only if it is passed on, person to person. “We Provide, You Decide.” © ## (News, analysis, and commentary.)
