The final numbers are in for the 2017 Louisville Manufactured Housing Show, and they show another increase in attendance.

We had 1,933 people representing 753 companies in these four categories. If you add in the additional representatives in these categories, it comes to 346 more people in 2017 than came in 2016. This is a significant increase from one year to the next,” Dennis Hill of Show Ways Unlimited, Show Coordinator told MHProNews.

In addition, if you add in the exhibitors and special guests, our total number comes to 2,929 individuals representing 962 companies. I think everybody would agree that this year’s show was a success. The degree of enthusiasm was most rewarding. We are looking forward to the 2018 show. Again, thanks for your continued support for the Louisville Show. Without you, nothing happens!

Manufacturers gave the show a solid B (on an A to F grading scale),”  outgoing Show Chairman, Ron Thomas Sr., told MHProNews.

The show was an improvement over last year, exhibitors told MHProNews, but still not what the show was like 15 or more years ago.  Exhibitors agreed that the show traffic was up over 2016, some said, due in part to the improved weather this year over last.

The total number of homes on display was down slightly from the prior year, but the feedback from attendees on the models on display was routinely positive.  ##

2015 Tunica Manufactured Housing Show Flash Report

March 28th, 2015 Comments off

Photo_credit__hotels_comThe 2015 Tunica MH Show is now in the history books. While final numbers need to be cross checked and adjusted for accuracy, the first word heard is that the new location at the Hollywood and Resorts Hotels and Casinos near Tunica MS drew more attendees than the previous year.

Dennis Hill with Show Ways Unlimited told MHProNews that the early look suggests that attendance was up in every category. Retailers, Communities, Builder/Developers and Installers all turned out in greater numbers, even though the show had rain the second and third day.

More details will be published next week, once the final figures are at hand. Other anecdotal comments from exhibitors to MHProNews suggests that this was a good show for manufacturers, suppliers, vendors and at the popular Business Building Seminars. ##

Dennis Hill at Show Ways Unlimited, says Louisville Show Pre-Registrations are ahead of 2014

December 10th, 2014 Comments off

home sales rising housing wire com creditAmanda Fraser, assistant to Dennis Hill at Show Ways Unlimited, told MHProNews  that At this time last year we had 490 Attendees, and this year we are at 554.” RV MH Hall of Fame inductee, Dennis Hill, confirmed the fact that as of today, pre-registrations for the 2015 Louisville Manufactured Home Show are up some 13% over the same time frame last year.

We want to be cautious about making too much or too little from this early report, Dennis Hill said. There are certainly a variety of factors that could raise or lower that percentage between now and show time.”

But when pressed, Hill acknowledged it is a good sign that the 4 year uptrend at the Louisville Show will continue.

Hill explained that the show is sold out on the manufacturing side, and has been for months. There may be one exhibit space left, a fact which needs to be confirmed.

Even with cold, wintery weather last year, attendance reached another post 2010 record. A range of details and videos about the rapidly approaching 2015 Louisville Show are available at this link. This month’s pre-show report by Ron Thomas Sr. and Dennis Hill is linked here.

As the first and best attended industry event in the last two years, many believe it is part of the rising tide of manufactured home sales.  ##

Louisville Show is Approaching a Sell-Out

July 28th, 2014 Comments off

2014-louisville-manufactured-housing-show-crowd-photo-credits-mhpronews-manufacturedhomes-com-There are almost 6 months to go before the start of the 2015 Louisville Manufactured Housing Show, and booth space and manufacturers exhibit space is approaching a sell out.  MHProNews has learned there will be 2 new factory builders planning for the 2015 event, and apparently all the current manufactured and modular builders are expected to return.

Registration for the 2015 show opens on October 1, 2014.  Dennis Hill of Show Ways Unlimited suggests it’s wise to mark your calendars now for the 2015 show.

“Louisville has been the best attended industry event 2 years in a row.” Dennis Hill said.  “As videos from attendees in 2014 posted on our updated show website underscore, the enthusiasm and value for attending the show has not been better in a decade. Our popular Business Building Seminars will be back, and because they were often standing room only in 2014, we’ve expanded the seminar space.  The full seminar line up will be available this fall.”

Show Chairman Ron Thomas Sr. had only this to say, “It’s the best way to start off your new year. Don’t miss it!” ##

The Tunica Manufactured Housing Show Will Go On!

June 26th, 2014 Comments off

dennis-hill-showways-unlimited-host-l-a-tony-kovach=mhpronews-manufacturedhomes-com-manufactured-housing-news-Questions have been coming in about the status of the 2015 Tunica Show, given Harrah’s closure of the site where the manufactured housing show has been held for the past 17 years.

Dennis Hill at Show Ways Unlimited, the trade show’s coordinator, has told us that alternative options are in hand. Plans that incorporate those options are being considered and that a recent trip to Tunica with Keith Bennett – the Tunica Show Chairman – identified backup options, should those be needed.

“The Show will go on, there is no question about that fact.” said Dennis Hill to MHProNews.com. “Once all the details are worked out, we will make a formal announcement. Exhibitors and attendees alike should plan for a 2015 Tunica Show that will be as robust as ever.”

As a programing note, RV MH Hall of Fame inductee Dennis Hill will be featured in an upcoming exclusive video interview in July, in a behind the scenes look at what happens at a trade show such as Louisville or Tunica. Hill is one of the under-sung heroes of our industry, and the video will be of keen interest to thousands of industry professionals.

That video and article with Dennis Hill will go live on the MHProNews home page – along with 9 other “Inside MH” videos, A Cup of Coffee with…Barry Cole (soon to be inducted into the RV-MH Hall of Fame) plus other new featured articles and reports. The new features should be live by this time next week. ##

Even with Thunderstorms, Tunica Pre-Show Estimates Exceeded

March 30th, 2014 Comments off

2014-tunica-manufactured-housing-show-entrance-south-central-manufactured-housing-institute-harrah's-convention-center-tunica-msWhile weather and other factors kept some potential attendees away, preliminary figures from Show Ways Unlimited and the registration company indicted that a total of 2195 professionals attended the 2014 Tunica Manufactured Housing Show.  Pre-Show estimates on total professionals expected at this year’s event were for 2100 total.

The timing of Ceasar’s Entertainments public announcement on March 26 that their Harrah’s Tunica property would be closed may have confused some potential attendees.

Sources close to the Show speculated that the property may still be sold prior to the June 2 planned closing date for the casino and hotels.  If indeed the property closes, a few ideas were floated for new potential locations for the show, including a new all indoor location in Nashville, TN.

One way or another, this March Manufactured Housing Show is expected to continue on.

Post show commentary and videos are expected in April’s Featured Articles on MHProNews, on the Industry Voices guest blog and on the Cutting Edge blog. ##

Louisville 2014: Manufacturers Space Sold Out

August 22nd, 2013 Comments off

Louisville-show-2014With almost 5 months before the show starts, Dennis Hill with Show Ways Unlimited has told MHProNews that the manufacturers floor space is sold out. This is a good sign of the momentum being built during the last 3 years since the show was canceled in 2010. In 2011 there were some 2 dozens homes on display. In 2013, that number had risen to 39 homes. In 2014, 48 homes are booked, and it took getting more of the Kentucky Expo Center space to accommodate those extra homes. Updates are taking place on the LouisvilleManufacturedHousingShow.com during the next two weeks. You can also see the latest info on the show at this link on the MHProNews.com Corporate Press Release news module. ##

Louisville Show Success! Initial Report, by the numbers

January 27th, 2013 Comments off

money-tree-louisville-manufactured-housing-show-2013-posted-mhpronews-com-daily-business-news-MHProNews has learned that attendance at the 2013 Louisville Show rose a stunning 1.337% vs. the 2012 totals, according to preliminary numbers released by Michele Middleton of the Show Ways Unlimited. Middleton stressed that filters must be run to gauge the exact tallies in all categories, but that the initial reports are typically quite accurate. By attendee category, the initial report reads as follows:

  • Builder/Developer – 188
  • Community Manager – 301
  • Installer – 79
  • Retailer – 799
  • Total 1,367

The above represents a rise in every category over 2012. It should be noted that since attendees can only sign up in one category, some land lease community owners/managers – for example – may elect to sign up as retailers or builder/developers.

Comments from those at the show and a more in depth Show related report can be found at the links below.
