Rocking Manufactured Housing Shows, Events, and Marketing Promotions

So said Casey Mack and he’s in charge of Legacy Housing Corporation’s Marketing, Web, and Dealer Programs.  Legacy provides manufactured homes and tiny houses to street retailers and manufactured home land-lease communities, a.k.a. ‘mobile home parks.’

Years of Measurable Results

A dramatic example and widely known example of performance by what Mack called the MHProNews Team is the Louisville Manufactured Housing Show, which was cancelled in 2010, after it had trended down for years prior to that point.

The only change made by the Louisville Show management in their comeback promotional effort that began with their 2011 Show was MHProNews.  Here’s what two of the state executives who where involved with the Louisville Show’s parent organization at that time had to say about our team’s work.




More recently, when the Louisville show promotion was assumed by MHVillage, the 2019 Show was physically smaller in the scope of displayed homes and exhibitor booths, per show sources. A once growing trajectory for the historic event – while under years of MHProNews promotion and educational management – is now measurably sliding once again, per facts provided by show management and their own promoters. Rephrased, the event made a come back while MHProNews promoted, but in 2019 is falling after MHVillage’s promotion. See the stark contrast in the trends?

Triad Financial Services Creates New Program Manufactured Home Dealers

Triad Financial Services, Inc. tells MHProNews that it has formed the Triad Manufactured Home Risk Purchasing Group (RPG) for manufactured home dealers.

Triad says that it created the program in response to the increasing demand for affordable liability insurance for manufactured home retail dealers. In addition to the insurance savings, the program will also provide periodic loss prevention and risk management information.

Recent changes in the manufactured home general liability insurance markets have undergone changes to where it may be difficult to find affordable coverage for manufactured home dealers,” the company said.

Triad wants to ensure that dealerships across the country are aware of the RPG and the benefits it provides to dealers.”

New Capital

The Daily Business News recently covered Triad’s building on their ongoing process of introducing new capital to the market, including recently bringing Superior, Wisconsin-based Superior Choice Credit Union to the Louisville Manufactured Home Show.

Legal and General Reveals Secret for Modular, Prefab Lending

The survey arm of insurance giant Legal & General believes it has the answer for bringing the mortgage market on board with prefab and modular home lending.

An industry-wide guarantee would help bring everyone to the market but, of course, their appetites will differ according to the requirements of their own lending policies,” said a Legal & General spokesman.

There are many ways of reassuring mortgage lenders that homes constructed offsite are reliable enough to lend on.

But not least is the need to establish an industry kite mark such as Build Offsite Property Assurance or the National House Building Council which offer independent assurance around the design life of the homes.

Legal & General, which owns a modular housing factory capable of building 3,000 homes per year in Leeds, U.K., has been active in the manufactured, modular and prefab industries, including increasing its stake in builder Cavco Industries.

Speaking on the Farmer Report by Cast CEO Mark Farmer in November, which called out modular housing as a solution to the U.K. housing crisis, Paul Stanworth, managing partner at Legal & General, commented on the company’s plans.

This review sets out a clear way for the construction sector to reinvent itself in order to meet the ever-growing demand for homes and infrastructure,” said Stanworth.

Legal & General is helping to address this problem by investing in a modern factory to produce homes using manufacturing processes seen in the production of cars and other consumer goods.

This construction method is safe, clean, and fast, providing a high level of consistency and durability. We sincerely hope that Farmer’s review galvanizes the entire sector to invest in innovation and secure its future.

According to Mortgage Introducer, Legal & General Surveying Services has been helping lenders understand risks and opportunities with visits to development sites that use modern methods of construction and by having speakers talk to property risk managers. It has also invited lenders to its factories.

The government also supports offsite construction and hints that a soon to be published housing white paper may increase that support,” said the spokesman.

The government will be keen to use these homes to fulfill the need in our cities as well as new towns. We see offsite construction as part of the wider solution to the housing crisis, and these buildings are particularly well suited to delivering affordable homes – the very kind of property we need most.

While critics of prefab homes in the U.K. often negatively compare them to ones built after World War Two, Legal & General says that the modern construction is very different.

Post-war, the key was to house people. Now the materials used must come with quality assessment so the properties can be mortgaged from the outset,” said the spokesman.

Also the quality of build and the features and specifications available are light years away from previous incarnations. New techniques are likely to be higher quality than traditional techniques because they are precision engineered.

Much like the automotive industry, the technology and features available now are unrecognizable to the post-war period.”

Modular Container Housing to House At Risk Women and Families in Vancouver

Vancouver__modular__atira_womens_resource_center_credit__imageMHProNews has learned the seven story modular housing complex made from old shipping containers rising in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia is headed up by the non-profit Atira Women’s Resource Center, which already has a 12 unit modular building providing housing for women in town. This 21-unit housing project is for women and their families, according to

Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson said, “We know the housing market is very difficult for people on low and fixed incomes and we urgently need creative projects built at low cost.”

The building will include seven micro units and 14 two-bedroom units with community space and retail on the ground floor, as requested by the Strathcona Residents Association. The Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation is contributing $600,000 to the project. Other community groups involved in the project include Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services, Sheway, and Watar.

MHProNews reported May 13, 2016 another project involving affordable modular housing in Vancouver is divided into two separate sites. One on High St. will have 40-80 micro units, each with its own kitchen and bath. The other modular complex will have 40 units but with a shared kitchen. ##
