Report: What’s the Most Partisan Federal Agency?

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has been deep in the crosshairs of various groups, including industry associations, members of Congress and most recently the incoming Donald J. Trump Administration.

With recent findings, the scrutiny continues to gain legs.

According to campaign finance data obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, employees at the CFPB, which was created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, contributed nearly $50,000 during the 2016 campaign, with all of that money going to Hillary Clinton or Senator Bernie Sanders (I., VT).

Agency employees made more than 300 donations during the campaign. Not one went to a Republican candidate.

CFPB employees fell over each other to give money to Hillary because she supported CFPB’s desire to remain in the shadows and unaccountable to the American people,” Representative Sean Duffy (R., Wis.), a frequent critic of the agency.

No one is shocked that Washington bureaucrats would donate to the candidate who promised to maintain and expand onerous Dodd-Frank regulations that crush our community banks and local credit unions.

Republicans have tried to reduce the scope of the bureau’s broad regulatory power since Senator Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.), oversaw its creation.

In addition to the CFPB, the Peace Corps and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) also saw all political contributions go to the Democratic Party or allied groups, though one of those agencies’ donations came from just one employee.

Peace Corps is a nonpolitical federal agency,” said a Peace Corps spokesperson. “Like all federal employees, Peace Corps employees must adhere to restrictions on political engagement established by the Hatch Act, which does not prohibit political contributions made on personal time.

The agency does not track the private contributions of its employees or Presidentially appointed-Senate confirmed board members,” said a spokesperson for the NTSB. “The NTSB follows the provisions of the Hatch Act which is enforced by the U.S. Office of the Special Counsel.

As Daily Business News readers are aware, we have followed the recent developments around the CFPB closely, including testimony from former Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf in a hearing on Capitol Hill and a Washington D.C. Circuit Court ruling that the agency was unconstitutional.

MHProNews has underscored the revisionist history some are seeking to apply to the causes of the 2008 financial meltdown, that lead to the passage of Dodd-Frank; spotlighted in the video below.

The impacts from the Dodd-Frank act and the CFPB are wide ranging for the manufactured housing industry, including the question of whether or not Dodd-Frank has created a renter’s nation and the call for media to revisit Dodd-Frank reporting in light of congressional testimony from CFPB Director Richard Cordray. ##

Buffett On President-Elect Donald Trump: “He Deserves Everybody’s Respect”

Even though he supported Hillary Clinton in this years’ presidential election, Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett says that the nation needs to unite.

I support any president of the United States. It’s very important that the American people coalesce behind the president,” Buffett told CNN’s Poppy Harlow in an interview on November 11th.

That doesn’t mean they can’t criticize him or they can’t disagree with what he’s doing maybe. But we need a country unified. He deserves everybody’s respect.

Buffett says that his choice to support Clinton was largely due to her temperament, and that he has not spoken with her since the election. He also shared that he understands that Americans upset about the lack of growth of the economy helped to get Trump elected.

Buffett also said that he would be willing to help the president-elect should he ask.

I would do that with any president. I’ve never called a president in my life. So I don’t initiate ‘em,” he said.

But if any president asks me for help in any way, I mean, that’s part of being a citizen.

Berkshire Hathaway stock has been on the rise since the election, with increase each day. For Buffett, he said that he was never concerned about stories predicting a stock market crash if Trump won, calling the fears “silly.”  For the most recent closing numbers, found on the Daily Business News’ manufactured housing industry connected stocks, please click here.

I don’t care whether you are a liberal, conservative, independent or something else – the bottom line with this year’s election was simply more of the same or something new, different or unique,” said Tim Connor, CSP.

Eddie Hicks, a long time MH industry veteran and consultant shared his take.

M/H owners are certainly one of the ‘hidden majority’ who may have felt somewhat disenfranchised in recent years,” said Hicks.

It’s the dawning of a new day. After the shock and elation or disappointment wash over us, and we all have taken a collective deep breath, we can begin looking to the future. And in that future I think it is safe to say that changes, well, they are a come’in,” said Texas Manufactured Housing Association executive director DJ Pendleton.

For any who might not yet be aware, in addition to President-Elect Trump heading to the White House, both the House and Senate will now be controlled by a Republican majority. All three branches of government are in Republican control. What will this mean? It simply means that there is little in the way of the Republican policy agenda.

Status Quo or Time for a Big Change? Election 2016

November 8th, 2016 Comments off

nothingchangesuntilyouchangeitvote-usflagmhpronews-450x258The election is a dead-heat. Perhaps more than any election in decades, polls suggest that there are more battleground – plus normally blue or red states – that could be in play this election year. It’s now all about voter turnout.

It is YOUR turn.

Republicans look to hold the House, and surprisingly could hold the Senate.

If the Senate ends up a tie, then the party that takes the White House will control the Senate.

bloombergjenniferepsteincatcheshillarysupportedbybillclinton-dailybusinessnewsmhpronews

The third-party candidates have faded into low single digits in the most recent polls. About 42% of voters who favor Hillary Clinton will not be deterred by anything they see or hear.  The same holds true for Donald Trump.

election270towin11-8-2016-mhpronews-com

A wide variety of projections are out there in the media, this one on 270toWin is based upon recent polling and internal data.

Enthusiasm and crowd sizes are in the Trump Campaign’s favor, but the ground game may favor Clinton.

dailytrackingpoll1182016-quotes_dailybusinessnewsmhpronews

Trump leads by 4.8% in the LATimes daily tracking poll’s final day. For yesterday’s in-depth election coverage, photos and videos, click here.

There is a larger than normal number of late deciders, which often favors the outsider – who in this race is Donald Trump.

issues2016-dailybusinessnewsmhpronews

For those looking to cast a ballot that could make history, either candidate can make that claim.

The Clinton Campaign’s advantages are their multi-billion-dollar campaign, and a mostly pro-Clinton media.  Most of their campaign’s efforts have been invested in attacks on Trump, rather than promoting Secretary Hillary Clinton’s record and policies.

If you think Hillary Clinton is trustworthy and honest, if you like the direction of the country, this might be an easy decision.

If you believe what her campaign of documented dirty tricks, lies and exaggeration has put out about her opponent, this could be an easy decision.

On the issues, with some 7 out of 10 voters wanting a change, a successful builder, businessman and political outsider who will fight to change a corrupted system, Donald Trump could be your choice.

It is up to you.  Whatever the result, when you wake up on November 9th, you can feel good about doing your part.

A few hundred votes in battleground states could make the difference.

Irony and Hypocrisy – Nation of Islam’s Farrakhan Disses Obama, Clinton, Backs Trump

November 5th, 2016 Comments off

theblackvotelouisfarrakhannationislam-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronewsDon’t let any network or pundit depress you or your vote, because when you dig past the surface of the recent polling, you see that this election is a true tossup on who will be the next occupant of the Oval Office.

Irony of ironies is to see a growing number of black – and in the case of Louis Farrakhan, Muslim leaders praising Donald Trump – while dissing President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

The New York Times recently reported the nervous reason why President Obama is spending so much time playing defense in battleground and even supposedly solidly blue states.  The indicators are that the early black vote may be down by some 15 percent.  If every other election trend held – including the fact that Donald Trump is polling as high as 18% with blacks in recent polling, barring the unforeseen or widespread fraud – Donald Trump and Mike Pence will become the next president and vice-president of the United States.

This election is far from over.  The momentum is solidly moving in Donald Trump’s favor.  Don’t let any commentator dissuade you from voting, because this will come down to who wants this election the most.

The hypocrisy?  That the Clinton campaign is doing what they accuse their GOP rival of – they have made this a ‘go low’ election.

The Clinton camp aren’t focused on arguing policies or experience, rather, they are trying to make Trump radioactive.  For manufactured housing, editorially, we’ve taken the view that Donald Trump’s policies are better for our industry and America.

In an opinion column that features an easy-to-follow infographic, Soheyla Kovach, MHProNews co-founder, lays out her case as to why Hillary Clinton has failed women, minorities, business and other voting groups. See the link here.

clintontrumplatimes11-5-2016-dailybusinessnewsmhpronews

Not just Farrakhan, but a growing number of other African-American, other leaders and tens of millions of all backgrounds are also saying about Donald Trump, “I like what I’m looking at.”

USA Today Study

While hailing what they dub as the “Trump Effect” for a “marked increase” in Hispanic voter registrations, the facts indicate that Democratic and Hispanic groups just have not surged the numbers beyond the growth of the Hispanic population in general, according to a USA Today report, shared by NewsMax.

Voter registration is up 3.8 percent from 2012, which, can be explained by 2.9 percent population growth since 2012 and 10-percent growth among the Hispanic population since 2010, according to USA Today’s analysis among the 50 counties with the largest Hispanic populations in 10 swing states.

Hispanics now comprise 12 percent of the electorate, an increase from 10 percent in 2012, according to the study.

Republicans are ignoring this growing electorate, and these numbers show that Democrats are leaving a lot of votes on the table too,” Al Noorani, executive director of the National Immigration Forum told USA Today.

But the pro-Clinton L. A. Times daily tracking poll suggests that the Trump campaign may be doing better with Hispanics than is generally reported.  Even with the LA Times subtly or directly attempting to influence their own poll with their coverage and graphics, their poll has nevertheless consistently shown Trump close, ahead and able to bounce back.

The details of their polling indicates a surprisingly strong support for the Trump/Pence campaign among Hispanics, as is reflected in the second tracking poll below.

Over 1 Million to lose ObamaCare Coverage

creditnewsmax-postedtothedailybusinessnewsmhpronewsmhlivingnews

Credit: Newsmax.

People around the U.S. are finding out that their health insurance plans will disappear from ObamaCare next year. This will force many to find new coverage at a time when a number of insurers are looking to exit the program, thus shrinking options.

According to Newsmax, At least 1.4 million people in 32 states will lose the Obamacare plan they have.

Aetna Inc., UnitedHealth Group Inc. and some state or regional insurers quitting the law’s markets for individual coverage largely cause this issue.

Sign-ups for Obamacare coverage begin next month. Fallout from the quitting insurers has emerged as the latest threat to the law, which is also a focal point in the U.S. presidential election.  Minnesota’s Democratic governor and former president Bill Clinton are among those who have recently blasted the failures of the program.

According to Bloomberg’s interviews with regulators and insurance customers, plans will be fewer and more expensive, and may not include the same doctors and hospitals.  That is the opposite of the results promised in ‘selling’ the program in Congress.  The Affordable Care Act – a.k.a. ObamaCare – has consistently been under-water in public polls, and was a rallying cry in mid-term election years that resulted in Republican control of first the House, and then the U.S. Senate.

Instead of growing in 2017, Obamacare could shrink, according the research by NewsMax. As of March 31, the law covered 11.1 million people; an Oct. 13 S&P Global Ratings report predicted that enrollment next year will range from an 8 percent decline to a 4 percent gain.

Bloomberg contacted officials in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., and the 1.4 million-person estimate includes 32 states and only plans sold on the individual “exchange” markets.

obama_&_biden_presidential-limo_july-2010-.png

Credit: WhiteHouse.gov.

In Texas, Arizona, Georgia and Missouri, insurers have pulled out, but regulators couldn’t or wouldn’t say how many people are affected. Three states didn’t provide sufficient data.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said on Thursday that it will contact people losing their coverage and encourage them to sign up with new plans.

The law requires all Americans to have insurance or pay a fine.

As is true for the nation at large, anecdotal evidence indicates that most manufactured housing professionals are unhappy with the law’s negative impact on business, the rising costs and shrinking coverage of healthcare.

Washington Post-ABC News Poll: Clinton +4, But There’s More…

Credit: WAPO

The poll, released on Sunday, shows Clinton up 47% to 43% in a four-way race, which is within the margin of error. Independent NewsMax sees this is a clear sign that Trump may be regaining his momentum, with 20 days remaining until Election Day.

wikileaksbulletpointshannityfox-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnews-mhpronews

Among the Clinton Campaign revelations by WikiLeaks are comments that disparaged Latinos as ‘needy.’ A recent study demonstrated that 96% of campaign contributions by journalists, editors and those with reporting ties are giving money to the Clinton Campaign. Revelations by WikiLeaks, Including Those Impacting or with Implications for the MH Industry

tylerdurdenzerohedgepinterest-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnews-mhpronews

Tyler Durden, Zero Hedge, Pinterest.

What was widely under-reported last week was the release by WikiLeaks of what Bernie Sanders and his followers asked for repeatedly during his campaign for the Democratic nomination for the presidency.  Namely, the transcripts of Hillary Clinton’s speeches to Goldman Sachs and others on Wall Street, for which Secretary Clinton was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars per speech.

The full transcript of those three leaked speeches are found at the end of this report.

Tyler Durden, writing for Zero Hedge, provided one of the more in-depth looks at what the three leaked speeches, and what those documents reveal about Clinton’s true positions.

As MH industry professionals know, Dodd-Frank has been wildly unpopular with retailers, community operators – indeed virtual all who directly or indirectly benefit from the sale of more manufactured homes.

Some of the bullets from the thousands of emails released are shown in the blue graphics = produced by Fox News – found on this page.

wikileaksbulletsopenborderswikileaksfoxhannitymanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronews

One of the many adverse consequences of the Dodd-Frank act has been the closure of hundreds of community banks and lenders.  MHLivingNews reported a number of MH industry operations that stopped lending, due to regulatory risks, one of those reports is linked here.

What WikiLeaks has spotlighted are a series of vulnerabilities in the Clinton Campaign. MHProNews publisher L. A. “Tony” Kovach has noted that, “Too big to fail” and “too big to jail” are becoming the new normal in U.S. politics in recent years, as opposed to the historic American rule-of-law.  The full election update from Sunday is linked here.

freethoughtprojectfarremovedfrommiddleclass-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronews

Kovach notes that public polling shows that most view the political and economic playing field in America has tilted toward the largest companies and rich donors, both of which can afford the high cost of political access.  That leaves the vast majority of Americans and small-to-medium sized businesses out in the cold.

Editorially, without claiming to speak for any of our sponsors, MHProNews has taken the position that builder Trump’s policies are better for manufactured housing and better for the nation. MH industry associations are unlikely to formally support a candidate, because they will have to work with whomever the eventual winner is.

Before and After the Final POTUS Debate, the Wild Card of WikiLeaks

The third and final presidential debate will be carried by the major news networks live, and is this Wednesday starting at 9 PM ET. Before and after the debate, the impact on the race of the steady drip, drip, drip of thousands of leaked Clinton Campaign emails is hard to predict.

clintoncampaignlyingsaudisfundisiscantvetrefugees-fox-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronews

Credit – Fox News, Sean Hannity Show.

Republican strategist Karl Rove notes that polling suggests that some of the swing away from the Trump campaign could be recaptured, if the GOP candidate “stops talking about the sexual allegations against him” – as many of those have already been discredited, and instead “focus on the policy issues” that make Trump/Pence the clearly superior choice for minorities, men and women, indeed the nation as a whole.

The following are a partial list of reasons why Kovach observes the campaign positions publicly held by Hillary Clinton are worse for America, worse for home ownership in general – and in the view of MHProNews editorially – worse for manufactured housing in particular.

  • Clinton promises she will keep Dodd-Frank, while Trump promises to repeal Dodd-Frank, which he says is harming business and job creation.
  • Clinton promises to raise taxes and increase regulations, while Trump favors reduction of job-killing taxes and regulations.
  • Clinton will keep ObamaCare or perhaps go to a Canadian-style single payer system, while Trump is for repealing and replacing ObamaCare, which is failing before the nation’s eyes, and which even Bill Clinton has called “a crazy system.
  • Clinton has said she favors open-borders and free trade, while Trump proposes defending borders, U.S. workers and businesses.

Trump has now set a record for having the most small-donors in GOP history.  His rallies and polling demonstrate more enthusiasm for his America First movement than Clinton has in her smear Trump effort.

In a change election year, her policies would only continue what has already proven to be a failure for the nation.

Manufactured home residents are some 7% of the U.S. population.  In a tight election, the balance of power could lie with the industry’s professionals and our homeowners.

Dodd-Frank, CFPB, Transcript-3 Leaked Clinton Goldman Sachs Speeches – Manufactured Housing Industry Impact?

October 16th, 2016 Comments off

freethoughtprojectfarremovedfrommiddleclass-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronewsOne of the hottest issues in the manufactured housing (MH) industry for the past 5 years has been:

  • the so-called Dodd-Frank “reform act,”
  • efforts by the MH industry to modify regulations imposed by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB),
  • noting that the CFPB was “birthed” by Dodd-Frank.

Last week, the Daily Business News reported that the CFPB’s structure was deemed unconstitutional, a fact spotlighted by a number of media outlets.

It is no surprise that pro-CFPB opponents to the ruling want to see it appealed.

What an appeal to the nation’s highest court would mean is that the next president’s appointment to the Supreme Court could be the deciding vote on an issue that has major impact for manufactured housing, other industries such as lending and hundreds of millions of Americans.

alanamy_royer-mh-latonykovach-manufacturedhomelivingnews-com-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronews

Award-winning manufactured home retailer Alan Amy estimated – as shown in the video linked above – that Dodd-Frank is costing the MH industry – and thus prospective home buyers – 30% more sales/purchases every year. That would mean over 20,000+ more jobs, and a similar number of additional manufactured homeowners.  Credits – Inside MH Road ShowMHLivingNewsSunshine Homes and ManufacturedHomes.com.

Revelations by WikiLeaks

What was widely under-reported last week was the release by WikiLeaks of what Bernie Sanders and his followers asked for repeatedly during his campaign for the Democratic nomination for the presidency.  Namely, the transcripts of Hillary Clinton’s speeches to Goldman Sachs and others on Wall Street, for which Secretary Clinton was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars per speech.

The full transcript of those three leaked speeches are found at the end of this report.

tylerdurdenzerohedgepinterest-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnews-mhpronews

Tyler Durden, Zero Hedge, Pinterest.

While some in the more moderate-to-conservative and alternative media mentioned excerpts of the leaked Clinton speeches, Tyler Durden, writing for Zero Hedge, provided one of the more in-depth looks at what the three leaked speeches, and what those documents reveal about Clinton’s true positions.

Here are some excerpts from the comments and emails that resulted from the WikiLeaks revelations.

  • Clinton Said, With Dodd-Frank, There Was “A Need To Do Something Because For Political ReasonsBecause Members Of Congress “Can’t Sit Idly By And Do Nothing.”
  • Speaking About Financial Regulations, Clinton Said “The People That Know The Industry Better Than Anybody Are The People Who Work In The Industry.”
  • Tim O’Neill Told Clinton “We Really Did Appreciate It” When She Had Been “Courageous In Some Respects To Associated With Wall Street And This Environment.”

One of the many adverse consequences of the Dodd-Frank act has been the closure of hundreds of community banks and lenders.  “Too big to fail” and “too big to jail” are becoming the new normal in U.S. politics in recent years, as opposed to the historic American rule-of-law.

Public polling shows that most view the political and economic playing field in America has tilted toward the largest companies and rich donors, both of which can afford the high cost of political access.  That leaves the vast majority of Americans and small-to-medium sized businesses out in the cold.

Another Woman for POTUS – Voices Progressive Opposition Against Clinton

jillsteinvhillaryclintonsteincampaignpostedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronews

Is the war-talk by Hillary Clinton in leaked emails the opposite of her projected claims of being the cooler, calmer head in this election cycle? Jill Stein, right, Jill 2016 campaign page.

Green Party candidate Jill Stein recently said that a vote for Clinton was a vote for war.

Was that political hyperbole by Dr. Stein?

Or was there some logic to her claim, based upon this under-reported WikiLeaks bombshell:

Clinton told Goldman that the message to China had been,You either control them [North Korea], or we’re going to have to defend against them.” and Clinton sayingwe’re going to ring China with missile defense. We’re going to put more of our fleet in the area.”

Consider the fact that Secretary Clinton initially called the TPP the “gold standard” of treaties, but under pressure from Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump’s popular-with-the-public opposition to TPP, she has since backed away from support of the TPP, which Clinton helped negotiate.

The WikiLeaks revelations include what millions already knew about Clinton; that she has a public and a private position on issues.  She said as much in speeches to Goldman Sachs.

twitterwikileakspublicpostionprivateposit

Statement by Clinton to Goldman Sachs. Public polls reveal that most Americans see Clinton as a liar. Why elect the candidate that is the most harmful to manufactured housing, and is a well documented liar? Image credit, WikiLeaks.

Given the utter failure of:

  • Secretary Clinton’s Russian reset,
  • the spread of ISIS under the Obama/Clinton foreign policy and
  • the fact that Bill Clinton and Barack Obama favors the TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership) treaty

– the twisted logic for Clinton in her position on China is stunning – and as Stein suggested – reckless. Stein has said that progressives should not waste their vote on Clinton, who will only betray them.

Who is Clinton to point fingers at any opponent, when her own track record is replete with failures and contradictory hypocrisy?  Why is her campaign focused almost solely on trashing Trump?  If her own record and polices would be better for the nation – why not focus on those issues, as she promised to do when Clinton said she would take the “high road” to the Oval Office?

solvingamericasaffordablehousingcrisissenbobcorkerhudsecretaryjuliancastrorichardcordraycfpbsamlandyumh-mhlivingnews

The tortured and contradictory positions taken by the CFPB are spotlighted in this Inside MH video linked above, one of a series of MHLivingNews and MHProNews reports that documented the harmful positions of the CFPB on manufactured housing lending. These twin trade media publications have taken a very consistent stance on the issues that face manufactured housing and our home owners.  Our public and professional focused trade media plan to continue to pursue a principles-based – vs. emotional – approach in this presidential campaign too.

With:

  • hundreds of billions of dollars in a trade imbalance going to China,
  • will the Clinton plan mean that the U.S. would then borrow billions from China
  • in order to ring that nation with a costly missile defense and ships from the U.S. Navy?

The evidence of corruption, duplicity and stupidity marked by the tortured logic found in Secretary Clinton’s positions are stunning.

MHProNews and MHLivingNews have documented the harm to manufactured housing’s businesses, home owners and would-be buyers. Where would the logic be in supporting a candidate – Secretary Clinton – who favors Dodd-Frank?

Aren’t any of the opposition candidates’ positions clearly better for manufactured housing – and our manufactured home owners – than Clinton’s stated positions?

Clinton Campaign Smear Tactics vs. Principled Policy Positions

goldman-sachs-hillary-creditgatewaypundit-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronews

Credit – the Gateway Pundit.

The Gateway Pundit, a popular and pro-Trump blogger who revealed this year that he is homosexual, has published a list of a number of already debunked and carefully timed smear attacks that have been launched against Donald Trump by Clinton and her surrogates.

The New York Post has published a list of the various deceptions by Secretary Clinton, revealed by WikiLeaks.

Here on MHProNews, the Daily Business News published a media first – the exclusive revelation of how Apple was using an update in their iPhone’s iOS10 update – a widget that was promoting anti-Trump news headlines, or pro-Clinton headlines.

While Apple never directly replied to MHProNews’ inquiries about the pro-Clinton widget, it should be noted that as of Sunday morning – 10-16-2016 – Apple’s headline news sources now include a Fox News and other items, which are more favorable to the Trump-Pence ticket.

Did the Daily Business News exposure of that issue cause Apple to rebalance the previously solely pro-Clinton coverage shown by their iPhone news widget?

There is a widespread, well documented effort by pro-Clinton media and corporations – with key news outlets, businesses and social media working in concert with the Clinton Campaign documented by WikiLeaks – to discredit the GOP nominee and promote Secretary Clinton. That effort is clearly designed to discourage Trump supporters, while buoying Clinton support.

As Christian evangelicals, The Catholic League, EWTN Catholic network and others are saying that the smear campaign against Donald Trump seems carefully timed to distract the public from the bombshell revelations in those emails. Democratic pollster Pat Caddell is among those who point to what he says is the over-polling of Democrats in recent polls, which could clearly skew the results toward Clinton’s candidacy.

Polls from 10-16-2016 LA Times Daily Tracking poll, which many believe was the most accurate in the 2012 election cycle.

While most national polls show Clinton in the lead, The LA Times Daily Tracking poll is one of two national polls that have shown a dead head in the contest, or a slight lead by Trump.  This is amazing, given the sheer magnitude of the assault against the GOP candidate, and may reflect the durability of his support.

latimesdailytrackingpoll11162016race-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronews

Trump has gained ground among Hispanics to levels that surpass Mitt Romney’s support in 2012. If he regains ground with blacks and women to levels prior to the carefully-timed release of Trump smears, the election could result in a Trump victory.

New and Analysis – It’s Not Over Until It is Over

The LA Times, which is pro-Clinton, reveals in the weeds of their polling a surprising strength by Trump among Hispanics.  If that holds up, and if another strong debate performance comes from Donald Trump on Wednesday, what now looks like a defeat could become a landslide victory for the GOP nominee.

Noting that in England, prior to the Brexit vote, only one poll showed that Brexit would pass, there are reasons to believe that it is not over here in the upcoming election until the final U.S. ballots are cast.

latimesdailytrackingpoll11162016income-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronews

Middle income voters strongly favor Donald Trump, and there is a slight edge among upper income voters to the Trump/Pence ticket. It is lower income voters – arguably those most harmed by the promises made by the Clinton Campaign – who lean more towards her candidacy.

There is certainly a wide array of reasons – including most major polls – to think that the advantage lies with the Clinton campaign.

latimesdailytrackingpoll11162016planvoting-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronews

Prior to the smear attacks against Donald Trump, he enjoyed a wider lead in the enthusiasm factor, but he still holds a narrow lead in this category.

But with:

  • the Trump campaign promising a major outreach. that he says will bypass much of the mainstream media to speak “directly to the American people,”
  • the third and final debate being moderated by Fox News’ ‘Fair and Balanced, Chris Wallace,
  • plus the steady drip-drip-drip of damaging revelations by WikiLeaks against Secretary Clinton,

the wildest election cycle in modern times remains unpredictable.

wikileakscintonemails-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrynewsmhpronews-_001

Editorially, without claiming to speak for any of our sponsors, MHProNews has taken the position that builder Trump’s policies are better for manufactured housing and better for the nation.

MH industry associations are unlikely to formally support a candidate, because they will have to work with whomever the eventual winner is.

But the following are a partial list of reasons why campaign positions by Clinton are worse for America, for home ownership in general – and in the view of MHProNews editorially – for manufactured housing in particular.

Republican strategist Karl Rove notes that polling suggests that some of the swing away from the Trump campaign could be recaptured, if the GOP candidate “stops talking about the sexual allegations against him” and instead “focuses on the policy issues” that make Trump/Pence the clearly superior choice for minorities, men and women, indeed the nation as a whole.

Trump has now set a record for having the most small-donors in GOP history.  His rallies and polling demonstrate more enthusiasm for his America First movement than Clinton has in her smear Trump effort.

In a change election year, her policies would only continue what has already proven to be a failure for the nation.

Manufactured home residents are some 7% of the U.S. population.  In a tight election, the balance of power could lie with the industry’s professionals and our home owners.

Trash Talkin’ Trump 2005 v Clinton’s Goldman Leaks-Open Borders, Gun Grab

October 8th, 2016 Comments off

botchedclintoninvestigation-postedmanufacturedhousingindustrydailybusinessnewsmhpronewsThere were October surprises dropped against both major party candidates yesterday, one being a 2005 video of trashy talk by the GOP nominee with NBC’s Billy Bush.  That one has drawn a video apology by Donald Trump, shown below.

WikiLeaks has posted over 2000 leaked emails from Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta. They include statements in Goldman Sach’s speeches:

  • You have a public and a private policy position (meaning, you lie to the public to get what you really want).
  • Her favoring open borders and free trade throughout the Americas, which would go far beyond NAFTA.
  • A gun grab by executive order and more.

Politico shares one excerpts under a headline, out of touch with the middle class, that has this Clinton quote:

My father loved to complain about big business and big government, but we had a solid middle class upbringing. We had good public schools. We had accessible health care. We had our little, you know, one-family house that, you know, he saved up his money, didn’t believe in mortgages. So I lived that,” she said in the speech. “And now, obviously, I’m kind of far removed because the life I’ve lived and the economic, you know, fortunes that my husband and I now enjoy, but I haven’t forgotten it.”

Going into these revelations, the polls are near deadlocked.

The LA Times daily tracking poll has largely favored Trump. Most other polls are tilting toward Clinton on Friday, but often within the margin of error.

Trump backers point out that the revelations against him may be shocking, but they aren’t new. The real estate mogul wrote about his business losses and implied legal tax write-offs in his book.  He was widely known and publicized for being “a playboy.”

Some pundit are asking – is there a double standard between coverage of Trump’s escapades as a private citizen vs. for similar or worse charges against Bill Clinton?  With the prior president getting cover and support from Hillary – while Clinton was in office?

Here below are some of the politically-charged headlines from sources around the web.
