Aussie Modular for Residential or Industrial Housing

June 28th, 2012 Comments off

Daily Mercury reports from Australia, housing solutions company Tektum has developed a modular house with two to four bedrooms, 80% complete when it leaves the factory in one and one half standard shipping containers, and occupancy-ready within several days. The homes feature solar water heating, double-glazed windows, rain water recycling and compact fluorescent lighting. Sydney-based Tektum also offers a mine accommodation option that divides the home into three units, attracting attention from coal mining companies seeking better accommodations for their employees. MHProNews has learned the modular homes have earned a six-star NatHERS (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme) rating, similar to LEED certification.
