Louisville Show is Approaching a Sell-Out

July 28th, 2014 Comments off

2014-louisville-manufactured-housing-show-crowd-photo-credits-mhpronews-manufacturedhomes-com-There are almost 6 months to go before the start of the 2015 Louisville Manufactured Housing Show, and booth space and manufacturers exhibit space is approaching a sell out.  MHProNews has learned there will be 2 new factory builders planning for the 2015 event, and apparently all the current manufactured and modular builders are expected to return.

Registration for the 2015 show opens on October 1, 2014.  Dennis Hill of Show Ways Unlimited suggests it’s wise to mark your calendars now for the 2015 show.

“Louisville has been the best attended industry event 2 years in a row.” Dennis Hill said.  “As videos from attendees in 2014 posted on our updated show website underscore, the enthusiasm and value for attending the show has not been better in a decade. Our popular Business Building Seminars will be back, and because they were often standing room only in 2014, we’ve expanded the seminar space.  The full seminar line up will be available this fall.”

Show Chairman Ron Thomas Sr. had only this to say, “It’s the best way to start off your new year. Don’t miss it!” ##

George Allen Fact Check: 6 Errors/Contradictions in one section alone (290/1)?

April 1st, 2014 Comments off

Caesar-Palace-main-fountain-at-night-in-Las Vegas-NV-WikiCommons-posted-on-mhpronews-comThe Washington Post famously hands out “Pinocchios” for false or misleading statements made by public officials they fact check, including notables such as U.S. President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin and other foreign or domestic public figures.

Since the MHIndustry’s George F. Allen boldly proclaims himself weekly to be a “reporter” and “communications resource,” let’s see in just one of the three parts (not counting his standard introduction, or “end notes”) in his recent post how many errors or contradictions this alleged “reporter” makes.

1) The first error/contradiction is found in the very first sentence in George F. Allen’s blog post (#290, section I); which is a typo of one of his own publication’s name.

2) When George Allen wrote;

“…NEVER EVER ENGAGE IN PUBLIC BACKSTABBING of MHBusiness associates online or anywhere else!”

…does Allen realize he violated that principle in that very paragraph, in his own blasting of the Manufactured Housing Institute’s (MHI’s) popular Congress and Expo? Is it ‘Do as I say, not as I do?’ for Allen in Indy? Does Allen hold himself and his friends to this standard, or not?

3) The early bird special for Congress and Expo runs through Friday, April 4, so Allen has 2 fact errors in his second bullet point, and once more violates his own stated principle of “…NEVER EVER ENGAGE IN PUBLIC BACKSTABBING of MHBusiness associates online or anywhere else!” As a side note, when has MHI ever attacked Allen’s so-called Roundtable or other “meetings” publicly?

4) Allen’s paragraph five states registrations for MHI’s Congress and Expo in 2014 “…are up 30 percent over last year!” An MHProNews source at MHI puts that at up 39% increase over last year, as of 3PM ET, 3/31/2014. Doesn’t that fact-error contradict his bullet point 3, which boldly claims his location has become “the hub…” “…of 1) research, 2) resources, 3) communication, 4) networking, 5) deal-making, 6) PM training & certification, and when need be, 7) national advocacy…” What Allen himself has said in a prior blog post, that he agitatesagainst MHI seems accurate. If MHProNews grades errors and contradictions on the curve, that would be a sixth fact/contradiction error. But if you look at the fact that accurate research, business building resources, more (…and more accurate…) communications, some 5 times more networking at the Congress and Expo event alone, true testing and certification through MHEI’s ACM (Accredited Community Manager), those first 6 claims are all errors/contradicted, because he is clearly not “…the hub…” based solely on Allen’s own missive. As to Allen point 7), when has Allen last engaged in “national advocacy” on an issue with Congress, the CFPB, HUD or other Washington based regulatory agency? Should that self-proclaimed “reporter” get a total 6 or 13 fact errors/contradictions for that one section of his blog? Does the Scripture-quoting Allen recall Exodus 20:16?

With so many obvious errors in just section “I” of a single Allen post – a pattern of errors which allegedly occurs routinely with this self-described “reporter” and “community-investor” – is it any wonder that the New York Times has not called George Allen to have a reporter spend a week in his “land lease life style community?”

For those wishing to learn the facts about the MHI/NCC 2014 Congress & Expo to be held on April 29 – May 1, 2014 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas – or to save $200 on early bird special for the hottest ticket in the manufactured housing industry ‘business building, educational, networking and deal making’ with an estimated 1000 +/- attendees from companies of all sizes – please click here by Friday April 4 for the discounted rates.

MHI organizers say similar events in the home building or real estate industry often cost more, and tell us they have arranged for discounted room rates ‘while they last,’ but MHProNews – which will have a paying attendee of the event – encourages readers to check out the facts for yourself. ##

Invitation and 2014 Louisville Manufactured Housing Show Updates

December 10th, 2013 Comments off

H:\1 SK MHMSM\1 DBN\kmhi-ky-manufactured-housing-institute-reception-mixer-2014-louisville-show-posted-daily-business-news-mhpronews-com-.pngPre-registrations for the 2014 Louisville Manufactured Housing Show are up over 50% over the same time frame as last year. So state the facts supplied by Show Ways Unlimited, who manage the show for the Midwest Manufactured Housing Federation (MMHF).

Show Chairman Ron Thomas, Sr. reports that in 2013, “Louisville in 2013 we had 1370 builder/developers, retailers, community and owners/operators, representing 573 different companies who attended.”

If that 50% increase in registrations for the industry’s largest event trend holds, that would mean that over 2,000 attendees would arrive in Louisville in 2014. Combined with exhibitors, it could yield a total attendance of over 3,000, compared to some 830 that go to the Manufactured Housing Institute’s (MHI’s) fine annual Congress and Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“It is an interesting comparison, but frankly it’s not exactly apples to apples.” said L. A. “Tony” Kovach, industry veteran and point man for the online promotion for the Louisville Show.

“Louisville will have 48 new model homes on display.” Kovach explained. “These decorated models will include manufactured homes and modular homes. MHC owner/operators will find Community Series Homes (CSH) on display. Retailers and builder/developers will see residential style and entry level multi-sectional and single section homes. MHI’s annual Vegas event is terrific, I love to go there too. Both Louisville and MHI’s Congress and Expo (C&E) have educational seminars and booths. MHI’s C&E by contrast has more educational events. But having homes on display ads a very different dynamic to what happens in the climate controlled Kentucky Expo Center, where the all-indoor 2014 Louisville Show is held.”

Speaking of MHI, Kovach added that the MHI staff – including their NCC division – will be very visible at Louisville in 2014. “Dick Jennison’s and his colleagues will be co-hosting a mixer with the Kentucky Manufactured Housing Institute (KMHI). Betty Whittaker does a great job with that and combined with MHI’s presence, it ought to be terrific.”

The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) members often have a private meeting during the Show.

“Norris Homes made the decision to display at the 2012 Louisville Home show after being absent for several years.” said Gary Boerner. “I can honestly say we will not be absent again. The dealer traffic was great and we were able to see and talk to prospects we might have never been exposed to.  It turned out to be a great decision on our part. We are looking forward to another successful show in 2014.”

Skyline Homes’ Terry Decio indicated they will display 4 homes in the KEC’s East Wing, next to the “Show Me the Money!” Seminar room. Enthusiasm is high, with sold out show space and the large boost in early registrations.

“The Louisville Manufactured Housing Show is an excellent showcase…With many networking opportunities and a well laid out exhibitor area, we look forward to the 2014 event as an opportunity to grow our manufactured housing business.” said Sherrie Clevenger, NADAguides. ##

MH Community, Retailers and Builder/Developers Swell

March 8th, 2013 Comments off

tunica-manufactured-home-show-crowd-mhpronews-com-MHProNews
has learned that the latest totals for manufactured home community professionals as well as builder/developers registered for the 2013 Tunica Show has more than doubled over last year at this time. Manufactured Home Retailer registrations are up some 22.5% over the same time in 2012.

In a statement, show coordinator Dennis Hill said: “This represents an increase of 186 additional attendees when you compare last year with this year at the same time.  Things continue to look good for the Tunica Show.” This is similar to the trend that took place for the Louisville Show earlier this year, when attendance rose some 30% over the previous year. “With shipment levels up for January 2013 over last year, and housing starts and manufactured home shipments expected to rise by some 15% over 2012, there are bottom line reasons for professionals to attend Tunica, where you can easily compare products and services side by side.” said MHProNews publisher and show promoter L. A. “Tony” Kovach. MH Community Series Homes along with dozens of other retailer and builder/developer models will be showcased.

At the current registrations pace, a total of 2200+ industry professionals could attend, making it the largest and best attended industry event of the year. The Tunica Show opens at 9 AM March 27 and runs until noon on March 29th. For more details, see the story by Show Chairman Keith Bennett linked here. A Little ‘Oh, no’ drama, but the Show is a Go

January 21st, 2013 Comments off

A source at the Louisville Manufactured Housing Show has told MHProNews that: “There is a real hunger out there for business building seminars and information.” Along with 39 new models—including community series homes—and 80 exhibitors, the networking, dealmaking, and education have all blended together to create an unbeatable event to start the new year. With brisk temps, clear roads and sunshine, attendance is expected to rise from 2012, and increased pre-registrations have reflected that expectation. Exhibitor complaints about a non-sanctioned “luncheon” on Wednesday prompted the Show to make the signage shown in the photo which will be posted in the KEC’s North Wing lobby. Despite this bit of drama, show management is confident that the event will be a big success. Click here for more information about the real event.

Louisville Show Launches Own Website

October 19th, 2012 Comments off

Dennis Hill and Show Ways Unlimited, Inc. are proud to announce the launching of the Louisville Manufactured Housing Show 2013 website. The website provides a robust display of specific seminars, exhibiting manufacturers, service and supply vendors that will be at the show, in addition to some of the movers and shakers in our Industry. Don Glisson Jr. MHI’s new chairman and CEO of Triad Financial Services will be among the movers and shakers who will meet, mingle with and address attendees. In 2012, over 1500 industry professionals attended and exhibited—more are expected in 2013. The Jan. 23-25, 2013 event will feature 38 homes on display, the largest indoor show in North America. This will be some 40% larger than the 2012 event. Among the dozens of positive comments about the new website, Tifannee McCall, National Accounts Manager for MWHC said:”…it is exciting to know that time and resources are being utilized in promoting the show. As our industry positions itself to move forward and business models change it seems only a natural transition to promote the show and all it has to offer electronically.” Bob and Janet McDonald said: “The Louisville show is a MUST see. I was very impressed at the last show and I can’t wait to see the exhibitors at this year’s Louisville show.” The Website was built by MHMarketingSalesManagement – a related operation of MHProNews.com – for the Midwest Manufactured Housing Federation (MMHF), the parent body of the Louisville Show. Ron Thomas, successful retailer, community operator and show Chairman touted the Money Tree business building seminars, the many networking opportunities and the top indoor facility for this type of indoor event, all featured on the new website. Coordinator Dennis Hill wrote in an e-mail, “With this new website, we are providing professionals like you more of the sights and sounds of what makes the Louisville Manufactured Housing Show the granddaddy of them all!” www.LouisvilleManufacturedHomeShow.com
