Starbucks Going Modular

Fastcodesign reports the new Starbucks in Denver looks more like something from the TV show Bonanza. Made of old Wyoming snow fencing, the modular unit is a drive-thru and walk-up only with no indoor seating, no internet connection, 500 square feet in size, LEED Certified and just large enough for 3-5 employees and all the coffee-making equipment. The design plan for the new facades around the nation involves using materials, often recycled, to reflect the neighborhood of its siting, clad over modular framework. As MHProNews has learned, the new generation of Starbucks will be on busy commuter routes. Instead of powering laptops, the electricity will go to heavily illuminating the location of each Starbucks, like a beacon of light.
