Southern Energy Homes opens New Manufacturing Facility

Southern Energy Homes (Sehomes), a subsidiary of Clayton Homes, reports it has moved from its facility in Double Springs, Alabama and hired 270 people at its new 176,000 facility in Russellville, Ala. where it will average 1,500 manufactured homes per year. With plans to hire an additional 50-75 workers, the new plant will be equipped to build homes up to 86 feet long, and features motorized decking and shingle systems, adjustable floor jigs, self-enclosed paint booths and remote controlled cranes. According to al.com, Gov. Robert Bentley is expected to attend the grand opening August 8. As MHProNews reported July 28, Sehomes is the site of a Department of Energy study regarding energy efficiency in three distinct manufactured homes. ##
