RV/MH Hall of Fame Kicks off New Fundraiser Challenge

rv mh half of fame in Elkhart INDDuring the Manufactured Housing Institute’s (MHI) 78th annual meeting, Darryl Searer, chairman and president of the RV/MH Hall of Fame and Barry Cole, president of MH Insurance Services and past chairman of the Hall, urged assistance from the attendees to help retire the Hall’s debt, which has resulted from prior unfulfilled pledges. To that end, Searer unveiled a five year fundraiser to take on the debt, which is less than $2.45 million, having been reduced by $3 million over the last 30 months, as rvbusiness.com informs MHProNews. Cole, noting that Searer has been a volunteer president for the past two-and-one-half years, said the idea resulted from his conversation with Kevin Clayton, CEO of Clayton Homes, who pledged $40,000 a year for the next five years after learning of the Hall’s improved financial position. The fundraiser will be called the “Kevin Clayton Debt Elimination Challenge” in honor of his generosity. Cavco Industries, Inc. President Joe Stegmayer said, “We are presently reviewing the amount Cavco will be contributing to this worthwhile cause and will announce our pledge in October.” ##
