Reports – ICE Raids Factory Builders

September 13th, 2017

PoliceICEImmigrationCustomEnforcementYahooDailyBusinessNewsMHProNewsA variety of inputs from sources across the spectrum have been received by MHProNews regarding alleged Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions that “targeted” factory home builders.

To protect proprietary information, the names of those locations and operations are being withheld at this time, as an initial check on this issue reveals no mainstream media coverage of such actions.

However, several news reports exist about conventional building and suppliers that have had such “raids,” – a term that ICE frowns upon.

For example, “Sun Dry Wall & Stucco Inc.’s offices, a foreman’s home, the home of a suspected counterfeiter and eight work sites,” per the Washington Times.

Company President Ivan Hardt, 44; the firm’s human resources manager, Carol Hill, 42; and four other employees were taken into custody on federal counts of conspiring to knowingly hire illegal aliens and harboring illegal workers,” said Lauren Mack, a spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Mixed Reports from Factory Home Building

Naturally, producers are reluctant to discuss this type of issue. But factory reps do talk to their retailers, communities, and others in the business.

There are several sources that have confirmed this claim.  There seems to be enough anecdotal information to support the contention, from normally reliable sources.  At the same time, MHProNews notes that equally reliable sources have said “I’ve not heard of this,” if true.

Among the allegations are suggestions that the raids were sparked by building competitors.

The Daily Business News has previously reported that skilled tradesmen are a challenge for site builders, and factory builders alike. MHProNews will keep ears and eyes open on developments on this issue. ## (News, analysis.)
