Survey of Manufactured Home Owners/Operators ends Dec. 20

Following up on a story MHProNews published Sept. 18, 2013 regarding a survey of manufactured home owners and community operators being conducted by the Queensland, Australia government, respondents must reply by Dec. 20. The survey includes questions on a range of topics including sales, operations, utility charges, rent increases and dispute resolution to make sure the government is keeping up with the rapidly evolving industry. Housing Minister Tim Mander says, “The Newman Government promised to lower the cost of living and cut red tape so we want to ensure the law provides fair outcomes for manufactured home owners without imposing too much regulation on operators.” The Australian Taxation Office has proposed another tax on manufactured homes sites which the Newman government believes is unfair. “It’s simply not fair for manufactured home owners to be slugged with an additional cost that doesn’t apply to people renting other types of dwellings like apartments or houses,” according to international.to. The results will be released by mid-2014.
