Dennis Adams, Britt Richards Inducted Into Alabama Manufactured Housing Industry Hall of Fame

Hamilton, AL – The Alabama Manufactured Housing Industry has inducted Dennis Adams, President of Timberline Homes, Inc., and Britt Richards, Vice President of Operations and Marketing for Clayton Home Building Group, into the industry’s Hall of Fame during a ceremony held on the campus of Bevill State Community College.

“To be nominated by the members of our industry and chosen by those who have already been inducted into the Hall of Fame is a special honor, and it means more to me than they will ever know,” said Mr. Adams. “I’m grateful to all the hardworking men and women at Timberline Homes, without whom our success wouldn’t have been possible. I’m proud to work with them each and every day, and proud to have helped over 28,000 families find a quality, affordable home. This is a special industry, and to receive this recognition is a special honor that I will always cherish and be proud of.”

“I am honored and humbled to receive this award and be recognized among an elite group of business associates,” said Mr. Richards. “I am grateful to work with an amazing team at Clayton Homes where everyone truly embraces the vision of elevating the industry. The thing I value most are the friendships and relationships I have developed over the past 31 years in this business. This is truly an honor I will cherish forever.”

Each year, nominees for the Hall of Fame are submitted to the Alabama Manufactured Housing Association from members of the manufactured housing industry. The nominees are then voted on by all past Hall of Fame inductees who are still living. The two nominees are then formally inducted into the Hall of Fame in a ceremony held in Hamilton, Alabama. In addition to manufactured housing, Mr. Adams is involved in the land and timber business, as well as the hotel and restaurant business.

Timberline homes has retailed over 28,000 homes  and has worked with the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development to install temporary and permanent housing units to approximately 8,000 presidentially declared disaster areas throughout the United States.

Mr. Richards began his career in the manufactured housing industry after graduating from the University of North Alabama, where he played baseball. He joined Southern Energy Homes in the spring of 1988 as a sales representative at the LifeStyle & Hospitality Division in Addison, Alabama. He has since dedicated more than 30 years of his career to the home building industry. In 1995, he was elevated to Sales Manager of two Southern Homes facilities, and soon added two more. In 2000, Mr. Richards became General Manager of two Southern Homes facilities, adding Estates in 2003 and Southern Energy in 2006.

Since 2010, Mr. Richards has served as an executive for the Clayton Home Building Group, first as a Regional Vice President and currently as Vice President of Operations and Marketing. In this role, he oversees 10 facilities in Alabama, Texas and Tennessee, which includes over 2,300 team members.
