The Bow River overflowed its banks in Siksika, Alaska last June, following a deluge that also swamped part of southern Alberta, Canada, putting downtown Calgary under water. 170 homes belonging to Siksika Reserve residents were hit by rising tide, with many destined for demolition. Evacuees from the 7,000 person reservation have been living in work trailers and nearby hotels, according to montrealgazette.com. MHProNews has learned a neighborhood of 64 modular homes is close to completion, and families of 2-4 persons will be moving in by the end of the month. The Chicago Bridge that connects the two sides of the town, also lost in the flooding, should be completed by month’s end as well. Some residents have been driving an extra hour to get to work on the other side. ##
