Modular Homes Built to Mimic Hobbit Holes

hobbit_homes__green_magic_home_and_wtop1h__creditMHProNews has learned from wtop1h, although no movies based upon “The Hobbit” or “Lord of the Rings” trilogy are in the works for the holiday season, Florida’s Green Magic Homes has developed “hobbit holes,” designed to be part of the landscape like the homes from the mythical Shire in “Lord of the Rings.”

Built of fiber-reinforced polymer, the modular homes are layered under soil so residents can grow crops on top of the homes, and have been patented as revolutionary technology for the generation of spaces covered with earth and natural gardens.

Green Magic, which offes a variety of shapes and sizes, says the one-bedroom home measures 400 square feet and requires three days to build. A three-bedroom model takes five to six days to build, but all can be adapted to extreme climates, whether in the desert or in the snow. ##
