Modular Homes being Imported from China to New Zealand

new_Zealand_stuff_co_nz_anuja_nadkarni__modular_made_in_ChinaWith concerns over the high cost of housing in New Zealand, the Auckland Home Show emphasized smaller and more economical options, according to stuff.co.nz.

One of the small-living products was modular Ecotech homes, imported from China and then assembled on site. The process from order to completion takes four months.

Made of Cor Ten steel, Ecotech director Tracey Brackebush described the houses as being “indestructible.” “The beauty of this is the quickness. They can be built on top of one another–the stairs are all bolted externally. It’s definitely going to be the way of the future,” she added. MHProNews has learned one visitor to the show wanted her 1970s home to be replaced with the Ecotech model. ##
