Modular Homebuilding can be Quite Varied

home_of_the_Year__modularhousing__creditAddressing the notion that many people think “mobile home” when modular home is mentioned, modularmusings tells MHProNews that Bill Gassett, in an article entitled Maximum Exposure Real Estate Blog on the Pros and Cons of Modular Homes, says that customization is not available in modular home building.

Noting the need to overcome this misconception, there is no lack of customizing options in the field of modular building, whether it’s commercial or residential. To be sure, some manufacturers only offer standard plans, which helps to hold down costs of construction. Other manufacturers will start with a standard plan and allow a set of number of options.

Still other modular builders may start from scratch and with the aide of engineers, designers, builders, architects and home plan websites, develop a unique home unlike any other ever built. This opens the doorway to “green construction,” which could include solar panels, energy storage and feeding back to the grid, water cachement, super efficient HVAC, double pane windows, extra thick insulation and remote control systems that allow you to check on your house and the kids in Hattiesburg, MS while you are in Hamburg, Germany.
