Bloomberg reports the U.S. Census Bureau says manufactured housing shipments rose to a seasonally-adjusted rate of 49,000 in August, up two thousand units from July 2011. Placements rose from 43,000 to 44,000 for the same period, and dealer inventory held steady at a seasonally-adjusted rate of 21,000. The average sale price of a manufactured home increased to $61,800 from $61,100, August over July.
