The odds of passing the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) backed “Preserving Access to Manufactured Housing Act” may be rising.

Sources tell MHProNews that MHI has reported to their members in an email yesterday that, “the House Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) passed the language of the Preserving Access to Manufactured Housing Act as a part of its Fiscal Year 2018 Financial Services Appropriations bill.”

MHI correctly notes that “House Appropriators is critical since appropriations bills are the only “must-pass” legislation before Congress each year.

Grassroots pressure for performance by MHI has been growing for months. Some of this increased effort may be due in response to concerns raised from inside and outside of the Arlington, VA based trade organization.

MHI senior staff and some executive committee members have been asked to comment on pending issues.  The Daily Business News will report on response(s) from the latest inquiries.
