On July 7, the city council voted unanimously to change the zoning from commercial to manufactured homes. McGill paid $450,000 for the 13.7-acre tract, and plans are afoot to begin the project in the near future. Mayor Nola Xavier said the July 7 meeting only covered the zoning issue, and the building plans have yet to be submitted to the council.
