Manufactured Homes can be Sited in any Single-family Residential Area

While the city had prevented MH from being sited in single-family residential areas, state law requires jurisdictions to treat both types of housing as the same, says Community Development Director Gilbert Alvarado. The Washington Cities Insurance Authority discovered Moses Lake was not in compliance.

Alvarado said, “We’re 10 years late, now going on 12 years late from that statute … We have to do something.” He added MH needs to meet the same quality requirements as stick-built homes. ##
