Louisiana Pacific Adds Three Percent; Nasdaq Edges Up 26.00 Points

Investors returned to the Big Board today, mildly interested following a long holiday weekend, pushing the three major indexes slightly higher in anticipation of hundreds of companies releasing their first quarter financials. The Dow Jones Industrial Average nudged up +40.71 points, +0.25 percent, to close at 16,449.25. The Nasdaq gained +26.03 points, +0.64 percent, to end the session at 4,121.55 while the S&P 500 moved up +7.04 points, +0.38 percent, to close at 1,871.89, as CNNMoney tells MHProNews. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite advance +2.48 percent to close at 740.86. Tracked housing stocks closed mixed or even in today’s trading. Louisiana Pacific Corp. was the biggest gainer of stocks we follow, moving up +3.02 percent, +0.46 points, to end the trading day at 15.71. Affiliated Managers Group slipped the most of stocks we track, losing -1.22 points, -0.65 percent, to close at 185.42. Cavco Industries 78.03 +1.63 (+2.13%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 189,482 -1,157.00 points (-0.61%).
