HUD Code Production for Year Ends on a Strong Note

February 3rd, 2016

mh_on_truck__credit_champion_homesAccording to statistics from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) tells MHProNews HUD Code manufacturers produced 5,657 homes in December 2015, a 20.1 percent increase over the 4,707 homes produced in the same month in 2014.

HUD Code home production for the year hit 70,544 homes, a 9.6 percent increase over the 64,344 homes produced in 2014. Production fell from 81,457 homes in 2008 to 49,683 the next year as the housing market imploded, and began working its way back with increased production each successive year.

The top ten shipment states since the industry rebound in 2011 have remained relatively the same: Texas leads the charge, followed by Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, California, Kentucky, Tennessee and Oklahoma. ##
