Green Homes at Builders Show

HousingZone reports Professional Builder magazine is collaborating with Palm Harbor Homes, IronTown Homes and Greenfab to build three energy efficient model homes for display at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas, Jan. 18-24, 2013. The Aurora is an all-electric home; the Admiral is a Craftsman-style home that has a guest suite attached with wider doorways for a wheelchair and roll-in shower to accommodate a multi-generational household; and the BASF Net Zero home is constructed to achieve 50 percent enhanced energy performance. As MHProNews knows, Greenfab is a sustainable, modular home builder which has submitted the Aurora and Admiral for LEED Platinum Certification. Energy-efficient features in the home include triple-pane, low-e windows, non-deducted mini-split heating systems, and wall-mounted radiant heaters.
