Gingrich Would Repeal Dodd-Frank; Romney Courts MH Seniors

January 31st, 2012 Matthew Silver

Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney campaigned in The Villages in Ocala, Florida, the largest age restricted active adult community in the world, 55 and better, with nearly 75,000 homes spanning three counties. The Villages website depicts numerous manufactured homes among the housing options. MHProNews.com has been informed it is a land lease community (LLC), but also has site-built homes on leased land. Meanwhile, Newt Gingrich crisscrossed the state in search of votes, and appearing on C-SPAN today said on day one as president, given a Republican House and Senate, he would ask Congress to repeal Dodd-Frank and Obamacare. He says they are “choking American business.” Dodd-Frank contains provisions harmful to the MH industry.  MHProNews.com has also learned the Great Southwest Home Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, may invite presidential candidates to the March 1-4  show.
