Forty-six Homes to be Added to El Jebel Mobile Home Park in Colorado

colorado_basalt__el_jebel_mobile_home_park__mhvillage_creditThe Roaring Fork Valley Regional Planning Commission has approved a proposal for El Jebel Mobile Home Park in Eagle County, Colorado to add 46 modular homes to the 298 existing units in the community.

A worker enclave for five decades, the Crawford family has contributed affordable housing to the area beginning with workers who built Reudi Reservoir, and when that was completed, to service workers in Aspen, as aspentimes informs MHProNews.

Plans call for eight two-bedroom modulars and 38 three-bedroom homes. Normally, Eagle County would require 12 of the units to qualify under the affordable guidelines, but because Crawford has a history of attainable housing, only six of the units have to meet the criteria.

The two-bedroom units will rent for $1,800 per month, while the three-bedroom modular homes will go for $2,100. The six affordable units will rent for less.

The Eagle County Commissioners must first review the project which means the homes will not be completed until 2017. Despite not having advertised the homes, there is already a waiting list of 126 names. ##
