Former NFL Star Arrested for Burglary of a “Mobile Home,” Surprising News Story Twist

He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns with the sixth pick in the 2004 NFL Draft and played 10 seasons for five teams, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots and New York Jets. He concluded his playing career in 2013,” per the Delmar Times.

 

The publicist for former NFL player Kellen Winslow Jr. said Saturday that a neighbor who reported him as an intruder in the [manufactured] home of an Encinitas couple who was not there was “overreacting,” as reported by the San Diego Union Tribune.

Winslow was arrested on charges of burglary in what initial news reports initially mischaracterized as a “mobile home,” [sic].SICSicutJournalismDefintionSocietyProfessionalJournalismDailyBusinessNewsMHProNewsBut his sources say, Winslow was “house hunting.”

Zillow reports some homes in the land-lease community in question are selling from $150,000 to over $400,000.

Given the fact that millionaires and billionaires are buying and living in manufactured homes in a land-lease community, there is certainly a tone of plausibility to Winslow’s explanation.

Of course, Winslow is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law, or by a plea agreement.
