Former Mod Mfg. Site Making Mods Again

April 20th, 2012 Matthew Silver

From ReporterHerald in north central Colorado MHProNews.com learns the former site of modular home manufacturer Barvista Homes is the new home of PTI Group USA. Taking over a 103,000 square foot building, this producer of modular workforce accommodations for oil field workers is out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, but is a subsidiary of Houston-based Oil States International. Oil States CEO and president Cindy Taylor says the company has a market capitalization of $4 billion, noting the modular accommodations sector accounts for half of the company’s earnings. Although it can provide completely furnished multistory housing units for up to 5,000 in remote locations, this new facility at Johnstown will be manufacturing modular two-bedroom two-bath structures, a duplex with two one-bedroom units, and command centers. The current workforce of 50 is expected to grow to 250 in five years.
