FHFA under Melvin Watt Taking New Approach to MH

federal_housing_finance_agency__logoThe Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) informs MHProNews that the “Duty to Serve Underserved Markets” as it applies to manufactured housing, according to the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (HERA), will be “revisited” under Melvin Watt, the new head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). The previous director held DTS in administrative limbo. The agency is also seeking comment on the possible inclusion of manufactured housing community “blanket loans” as part of FHFA’s multifamily affordable housing goals. MHProNews has learned FHFA’s current housing goals rule expires at the end of 2014. For the agency’s 2015-2017 housing goals for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, please click here. ##
