The celebration of Easter comes around once a year, but Sunday is a weekly occurrence.
As one scans national news, millions with a cause, effect and solutions mindset are seeing the connection between social and political ills and a loss of the sacred in society.
It’s all about the truth, and acting upon the truth. As Dr Keith Ablow has observed, not following the truth has consequences. That applies to our industry and related issues, and to all of the other challenges in our world.
Manufactured Housing and the Truth
Manufactured housing is plagued by a simple yet complex issue. It could be summed up with what Pontius Pilate asked Jesus at trial on a “Friday paradoxically called Good.”
“What is truth?”
Jesus stood silently for that question from Pilate. Millions of believers down through the centuries understood that the Christ is Truth Personified. His Real Presence spoke Truth.
Manufactured housing pros come from a full range of beliefs, including some agnostics and atheists. But all should find the question of truth compelling. Without truth, no substantial good can be achieved long term. Engineers, builders, bankers, janitors and parents — numerous professions and vocations — rely upon objective reality – the truth – in order to properly their work.
The truth can make some uncomfortable at times. That’s normal, even useful. It’s called conscience.
Some want to pick and choose ‘their truth.’ It’s as old as the story of Adam and Eve, justifying breaking the one rule that they were given — don’t eat the fruit of that one tree.
What makes manufactured housing a compelling opportunity for buyers, sellers, and others involved in housing is that the value is real. The heart of our story is based upon the truth of the needs, and the truth of our product and services.
Homes don’t have to be perfect to be good, any more than a car, truck or SUV doesn’t have to be perfect to be useful, or a meal has to be perfect to give nutrition.
Next week or early the following, barring the unforeseen, the Daily Business News plans a first quarter of 2018 review of the state of the manufactured housing industry.
There is obviously good news in rising new home shipments. But we won’t sugar coat the fact that manufactured homes are still near historic lows.
To solve a problem, one needs to search for the cause, the effects, and then apply the truthful solution.
