Delaware Awards Scholarships to MH Residents

First State Manufactured Housing Association of Delaware announces the winners of its Manufactured Housing Scholarship Award for 2011. Jennifer Lauren Ashwell is a 2011 graduate of Sussex Central High School, and she will be majoring in communications at Notre Dame of Maryland University in the fall. She will be seeking a career in broadcast journalism, having worked on the school’s morning TV show. Joseph Parish is currently in his second year at Cappella University, studying emergency management. He is looking forward to working with the Delaware Emergency Management Agency upon graduation. He has volunteered with the Red Cross doing emergency management. The two recipients will share the $1500 scholarship money. First State MHA has distributed $30,000 in scholarships since 1999. To qualify, students must reside in a manufactured home in Delaware for at least one year prior to their application. Applicants are also judged on scholastic achievement, financial need, essay, and personal recommendations.
