Converted Modular Shipping Containers may house up to 100,000

canadian_modular_shipping_containers__jetsongreen_credit__bigsteelboxUpdating a story MHProNews last posted May 22, 2014 regarding shipping containers becoming homes for liquified natural gas (LNG) workers in northern British Columbia, the $120,000 modular units are outfitted with many home amenities including flat screen TV, computer workstation, stainless steel appliances and floor-to-ceiling windows to bring in natural light. According to jetsongreen.com, the BigSteelBox containers were chosen over wood- framed building because of their structural soundness, sustainability and need for less maintenance, especially in the cold climes of northern Canada. An earlier report states the industry may create up to 100,000 jobs by 2020, when the government intends to have three LNG plants operational in the area. ##
