City Garnering Funds for Affordable Modular Housing

Following a story we last posted May 16, 2014 regarding 24 affordable modular homes Bluffton, South Carolina will use to replace aging pre-HUD Code homes, the 2015 $19.64 million budget will need an added $100,000 as seed money towards that initiative, as proposed. According to thestate.com, Town Manager Anthony Barrett says $25,000 in the budget could be reallocated to the housing project, and he was instructed by the city council to seek outside funding for the remaining $75,000. MHProNews.com understands the city would then seek grants to build the modular homes. Council will vote on the budget June 10, 2014.##
