Today’s MH Market Spotlight Report –

Buffett, Apple – Factory Home Building, You

Warren Buffett reads.

Warren Buffett researches.

Warren Buffett has his own sources.

Berkshire Hathaway (BH) already holds a major stake in manufactured housing.  He likes it.

Tech is moving all on its own.  The tech sector is also flush in cash they’ll deploy too, and some is heading toward housing. So it’s clearly worthy of Buffett’s interest in its own right, but also…

…is it too far a stretch to think that Buffett buying deeper into Apple could be a signal of something…beyond just tech?  Like more factory-built housing?

To understand this rapidly evolving scenario, check out these two stories – if you’ve not already seen them – and then circle back to Buffett, tech, and Apple.  Watch the video from that Amazon exec; and the post below links to the Bill Gates story too.

Time will tell.

But if you’ve not already read these stories, there are plenty of indicators that the tech sector could make a BIG splash into factory built housing.

Perhaps there’s a hedge, the BH Moat, as part of the APPLE tech play?

The video below isn’t new, but it’s Buffett talking to CNBC about his evolving views on tech, including his increasing play on Apple.

Per CNBC:

  • Berkshire Hathaway nearly 4 million Apple shares in the third quarter, according to a filing Tuesday.
  • Billionaire Warren Buffett’s company also cut its stake in IBM by 32 percent, and reduced its holdings in Charter Communications and Wells Fargo.
  • The filings reflect Berkshire’s positions more than a month ago and may have changed since.
  • Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway bought more Apple shares before their latest jump to all-time highs.
  • Berkshire also cut its stake in IBM by 32 percent, or 17.06 million shares, in the third quarter, according to a required quarterly filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission released Tuesday. The stock is the third-worst performer in the Dow Jones industrial average this year, down 10.3 percent.
  • Buffett’s conglomerate increased its holdings of the iPhone maker’s stock by 3.9 million to 134.1 million, the filing showed.
  • Apple hit a record high last week and is up nearly 11.2 percent this quarter, following the launch of the iPhone X. The stock has rallied nearly 48 percent this year.

More on Roy Moore, and it’s Possible Impact on GOP Agenda

Two Bonus Videos, as a follow up to last night’s report on the Judge Roy Moore Controversy.

Besides the obvious heart-burn this issue could bring to the Oval Office’s pro-growth agenda, a growing number of even Democratic voices are admitting that Moore isn’t being treated with the same kid gloves that Democrats caught up in similar scandals have been.

Think Bill Clinton.

Wrong is wrong, but there should also be a consistent standard for standards of behavior.
