Bogolusa Allows MOD, Prohibits HUD

June 27th, 2012

GoBogolusa reports the Bogolusa, Louisiana City Council voted 5-2 to permit modular homes in all residential districts of the city, although manufactured homes are not permitted. The state fire marshal has given its OK, but restrictions by the public works department include the houses must face the street and must visually match surrounding homes. MHProNews has learned the ordinance reads, in part, “Unlike other prefabricated construction, modular homes conform to all state, local and regional codes where the structure is to be located.”
