Sears Given a Reprieve from Liquidation as Chairman Lampert Makes Last-Minute Bid on Bankrupt Firm

·        Friday was the deadline for prospective buyers and liquidators to put in their offers to buy Sears.

·        Sears, which also owns Kmart, filed for bankruptcy in October.

·        The 125-year-old company has more than 68,000 employees.

Sears has been dying a slow death.  Some speculate that Chairman Lampert is not only partially to blame, but is now trying to benefit from failed leadership.

Whatever the case may be, there are lessons here for MHVille.
