Australian MH Producer gets Five Year Deal

Australia_national_lifestyle_villages_high_wyncombe_villageManufactured home producer Fleetwood Corp. in Western Australia has entered into a five-year agreement with NLV Group (National Lifestyle Villages) to supply them with manufactured homes for retirees.

Fleetwood will produce the homes at its High Wycombe plant in Perth and install them in NLV communities across Western Australia. NLV has nine manufactured home communities (MHC) and three more awaiting approval, representing 1,525 home sites for MH, according to a statement to MHProNews from Fleetwood through businessnews.com.au.

John Wood is the head of NLV. His father founded Fleetwood, and branched off into the lifestyle accommodation business.

Meanwhile, activist investor Sandon Capital Investments, which as of last month owns a 5.4 percent stake in Fleetwood, has been pressuring the company to drop its MH production business and focus on manufactured accommodation.

Sandon believes the best opportunity is operating MHCs: “In addition to lifestyle manufactured home estates for retirement living, we believe manufactured accommodation could become a cheaper alternative to traditional construction.” ##
