Another MOD Player in the Bakken Oil Field

BillingsGazette reports nine workers at the newly-opened System Building Solutions (SBS) in Laurel, Mont. are getting on-the-job training building a two-story 20-room modular man camp for the Bakken oil field build-out in western North Dakota. Utilizing resources in the Billings area, SBS is working out of a building previously occupied by Boise Cascade which was used to build modular homes, about which SBS President Daniel Borman says, “I can’t even imagine a better place to do what we’re doing here.” Borman has been a builder for Nationwide Custom Homes for ten years; his plant manager, Jim Auth, has been involved in modular homes over 35 years. Their prototype building consists of four modules with ten rooms on each of two floors. MHProNews has learned each 12 X 12-foot room has a full bath with bed, closet and desk, and is designed for the occupants to share a living room and dining facilities.
